Untitled[edit]

Highly pro-Lindall POV. The fact that Lindall is not a surrealist (because he himself admitted as much, and because his "manifesto" admits that he was quite surprised by the basic principles of surrealism, with which he was completely unfamiliar) should be included in the final article, and the vehement anti-Lindallism of surrealists alluded to in some fashion. --Daniel C. Boyer 23:45, 14 Sep 2004 (UTC)

In deference to Mr. Boyer I have added that Lindall is a controversial figure among many surrealist groups worldwide.

only one question: why remove the Kate Spade material? It is historically accurate to mention it. Did you merely want to preserve Lindall as an artist and nothing more? Anyway, good edit to make it more NPOV. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.86.67.198 (talkcontribs).

added material on Kate Spade[edit]

Part of factual history of this important artist. The picture in the Elle Mag. link - the man behind the camera is lindall. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.86.67.198 (talkcontribs).

In Response to a request from a wikipedian[edit]

I have apparently not abided by the guideline in Wiki about not editing an article about myself. I apologize. I will not make further edits in keeping with that policy. I will continue to monitor it as Philip Trueman suggests, and also clarify any errors in the article on this discussion page. Terrance Lindall 18:47, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PS: I have, I believe, abided by Wiki's standards: "All Wikipedia articles and other encyclopedic content must be written from a neutral point of view (NPOV), representing fairly and without bias all significant views (that have been published by reliable sources). This is non-negotiable and expected on all articles, and of all article editors.."Terrance Lindall 20:14, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, Terrance, for taking this approach. The {{COI2}} tag I placed on the article has already been removed, by Immunonuclear (talk contribs), whom I also thank. I am assuming good faith, but I find it strange that this is Immunonuclear's first, and so far only, contribution to Wikipedia. I hope he has read WP:SOCK. If I were a suspicious man I would ask for a Checkuser, but I'm not and I won't. I also intend to monitor this page, and the contributions of Terrance and Immunonuclear. My staff member. I run an arts organization. Thank you Philip! They are good and true, like you!Terrance Lindall 12:30, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Clean-up needed; some suggestions[edit]

Definitely needs clean-up. Consider the following:

  • WP:BLP - How to deal with articles on living persons. You'll also note a box at the top of this discussion page linking to the Biography wikiproject. They are extremely helpful with their information on setting up an article and finding comparatively great articles to use as a guideline.
  • WP:CITE, WP:INDY, WP:RS and WP:V - sourcing (which this article sorely needs)
  • WP:NPOV - to maintain neutrality, some negative criticism must appear alongside the positives. The quotes that are given should also be from notable sources. For example, what's so great about "Greg Fasolino"? As far as I know, this is Lindall's extremely supportive dad (heh... I'm just making a point).
  • WP:NOT#INFO - Consider the excessive list of works published, etc. Are all of these works worth noting? If so, the list can almost certainly be streamlined (i.e. list all Creepy covers together).
  • That might help an editor dedicated to this particular topic get started on clean-up. Best of luck! --Midnightdreary 14:18, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm surely not Mr. Lindall's father (though I was a huge fan), and I may not be "great," but I have been a reputable journalist for over 20 years. Google my name and a number of my articles and reviews will surely pop up. Greg Fasolino 02:55, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Great example of "missed the point." :) --Midnightdreary 13:27, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is an excellent article about one of the most noted and influencial American surrealist artists and thinkers.Surreal-one 14:22, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
