Neutrality[edit]

The introduction is of dubious neutrality and also happens to copy, almost word-for-word, the company's website.

For example, the sentence "The Company provides customers with a focused selection of high-quality, active-oriented, fashion and fashion basic merchandise at compelling values."

High quality and compelling according to whom? This is certainly opinion, not fact, and in need of a rewrite conforming to Wiki standards.

Disambiguation[edit]

We need a disambiguation page. Aeropostale is also the name of an old French in-state carrier airline which merged with Air France in 1933. French mail-carrying jets and planes still use the "Aeropostale" name. http://airlines.afriqonline.com/airlines/607.htm -Mets

Can someone fix the "NYSE: 1" part. i cant figure out to get it to become NYSE:ARO

PRONUNCIATION[edit]

Does anyone know the "official" way to pronounce Aeropostale? --Teenwriter 00:21, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

One problem is the R is a French Guttural R, a sound not present in English. --Jaybeeunix 17:54, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

it's air-row-pa-stole —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.217.36.57 (talk) 00:08, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've heard Arrow-paw-stull, Arrow-postal, Arrah-puh-stall, and arrah-paw-stale. Maddie was here 22:53, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We're supposed to answer phone calls with the pronunciation "Arrow - post - al (like the name)"

I've heard it aero-puh-stell and aero-post-ull.I have a big family with lots of teens and we all pronounce it aero-puh-stell. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.171.174.178 (talk) 00:38, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Age attracting[edit]

its air-row- pa-stale In the first paragraph it says its trying to attract teenagers ages 11-18 but then under Place in popular culture it says Aeropostale tends to attract ages 11-14. Can some fix that?

It's given as 11-18 on the company website.

I think it targets ages 11-19 because my friend who's 11 shops there and so does my cousin who's 19 so I'm guessing that's their targeted age. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.79.219.10 (talk) 00:14, 26 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Aéropostale targets ages 14-17. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.112.94.26 (talk) 12:55, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Arrow-pus-tull is the correct way —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fodgert (talkcontribs) 01:39, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

it's "air-row-poss-uhl." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.123.113.129 (talk) 02:49, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism[edit]

Just a heads up, someone keeps vandalizing the page. i removed it for the moment. 70.23.248.181 20:19, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Appears to be vandalized today (13 January 2010) or at least the History section does not meet Wikipedia standards. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.240.56.40 (talk) 06:09, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Competition" citations (or lack thereof)[edit]

I don't understand very well what does and doesn't need citations, but the competition section looks like original research to me, and the last sentence "this is mostly because they're cheaper" DOES NOT seem in the least bit neutral. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rdrkx80 (talkcontribs) 07:33, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The quote about "reasonable prices" seems too subjective. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.0.36.23 (talk) 01:39, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I Agree, "reasonable" be struck, and "because" should either cited or struck. DKEdwards (talk) 20:22, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Over 906" locations[edit]

What does that mean? There are 907? Why choose such a specific number and then say there are "over" that many? We may as well just say "over 900". 24.11.127.26 (talk) 02:06, 29 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's over 900!!!!! </4chan>

Grow up. 4chan isn't cute or funny any more.--BeckiGreen (talk) 20:32, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Number of employees[edit]

Resolved

In the little box in the upper right hand corner (don't know what it's called) next to "employees" it says 12. Can someone find out the real number and fix it? I don't know if it's 12 million, or 12 thousand, etc. November19thdh1 (talk) 00:59, 17 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That was vandalism. I've restored it to the correct number – 10756 (as of November 2008) kollision (talk) 05:49, 17 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

confused[edit]

I hadn't heard of this company until I ran across the name in a novel in which it implies that the products are expensive (it is contrasted with Filene's Basement, which billed itself as the place "where bargains are born" but is described as "Filene's Basement focused on high-end goods" in the Wik article about it). So, I would like to know if it is considered upscale or what. Also, what is its relationship to Macy's. The article says Macy's opened it. But then I didn't see any further mention of Macy's. In addition, I am confused by " In 2010, Aéropostale generated $2.4 billion in net sales, while its demographic-specific competitors, American Eagle, Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister reported sales of $2.97 billion, $3.037 billion and $1.55 billion respectively. American Eagle reported sales of $5.37 billion within the same time period." - Unless I'm missing some-thing, this says that American Eagle had sales of $2.97 billion and $5.37 billion in 2010. Which is it? Kdammers (talk) 07:03, 29 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
