This is an article about a particular hill in England. Is it notable? - [[User:Cohesion|cohesion ☎]] 09:28, Sep 23, 2004 (UTC)

  • I'd say it's just a hill/local park. If it has a role in history, it doesn't have it under that name. Would someone from another town have heard of this hill? Abstain for now, but if it's notable enough that people from other towns have heard of it, I hope someone says so. Geogre 12:50, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC)

There's a triangulation point on top of it, and it was used in working out where to put the railway, apparently.--MAdaXe 12:58, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC)

  • Well, I'm not surprised there's a triangulation point on top of it, it's a hill. That doesn't make it notable - there were rather a lot of triangulation points used all over the UK. I think it needs a bit more evidence of notability, to be honest. Average Earthman 13:33, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC)

  • Keep - local history / geography is perfectly notable, if, perhaps not of note to American computer programmers. If you really object to an article on the hill, redirect it to the nearest 'notable' geographic feature. Honestly. Mark Richards 19:34, 24 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep It's a nicely thought out town entry, and the description is certainly enough to make me interested to visit the hill, if I'm ever in the area. Also, sledding in the UK is definitely notable--especially the way global warming is going...--A Brit Abroad 08:52, 26 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • I'm torn. Why is the entry so thin? If the hill is a local attraction, which the Oswestry article claims, can't more be said about it? I'd be happy to keep this if some Shropshire lad or lass expanded it a bit. OK, I'll vote keep and send to Cleanup, just because Oswestry and Oswestry School (founded in 1407) are cool and interesting entries, and this goes with them.--Bishonen 18:52, 27 Sep 2004 (UTC)

  • Keep , talking about non-notable items, if we can keep USA townships of ten and less inhabitants in Wikipedia, I am sure we can maintain this article. After all the hill and its surroundings is about to be declared a nature reserve, by the look of things. Dieter Simon 23:50, 29 Sep 2004 (UTC)
