Olde discussion[edit]

This is not an encyclopedia article. Anything that could be said about human beings can be said about Homo sapiens just as well. I vote for reinstating the redirect. If not, I'm afraid people will start to add more material here and we will get duplication. 199.17.238.92 17:13 Aug 15, 2002 (PDT)

I agree. These two terms are synonyms, and should be treated as such. Bryan Derksen
I also agree. If Icarus doesn't soon come up with some kind of justification the redirect should be put back. -- Jan Hidders 17:30 Aug 15, 2002 (PDT)
I already put the redirect back. But if there were justification, something could be put back back. --Brion

Somebody linked from "human being" in the article on Curriculum. In that article, "human being" does not unambiguously mean "a human person," it could mean (in my opinion: is best understood to mean), in an ontological sense, the distinctive being proper to humans, as in Heidegger's formulation of Dasein.

Perhaps a disambiguation page would be in order. jawhitzn 21:36, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have just added a stub for Human being (ontology) jawhitzn 22:25, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

To deal philosophically with human being in a way different from the taxonomical concept of a human species. -Stevertigo (t | log | c) 01:16, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
