A reference to "Disciples Renewal" within the Disciples of Christ would probably be in order here. Rlquall' 4 June 04, 18:40

Generosity/money[edit]

It is simply not true to say that in all mainline denominations the majority of financial contributions are made by conservative churches. I know this for a fact to be untrue in the Episcopal church. There is a wealth of data that suggest the opposite, that, for the most part, more liberal churches (parishes) in the Episcopal church both receive more money in contributions as a whole, and give more money to the national church office. This is not to say that an expulsion of the conservative wings of Methodism Episcopalianism, Lutheranism or Presbyterianism would not have enormous financial ramifications for their respective national churches; this is obviously the case. Nevertheless, to state so casually, with no source data that it is the conservative churches who are the most important financially is at best groundless; it is probably evidence of bias as well. (For my data on Episcopal giving, see this analysis. [[1]]

The information quoted from the IRD does not relate to the issue raised in the previous paragraph about outside funding affecting internal church policies. They two paragraphs are unrelated, although the second paragraph seems to have been placed there to draw attention away from the points made by the first paragraph. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dmwarren10 (talkcontribs) 08:04, 15 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction[edit]

I found the following on Confessing Church and shortened it there. I don't know if it is an accurate definition. If so then it may be a good introduction for this article:

The Confessing Movement is a neo-Evangelical movement within several mainline Protestant churches to return those churches to what the members of this movement see as greater theological orthodoxy.

POV[edit]

Some of the article is written from the POV of members of the movement. I have reworded some for NPOV Paul foord 12:37, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Describing the work of these groups within The United Methodist Church as "successes" presupposes that the work being done by moderate and liberal movements is "wrong" or "invalid." The article is biased to make it appear that the conservative groups are acting "correctly" while the progressive groups are acting "incorrectly." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dmwarren10 (talkcontribs) 08:07, 15 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Removed the POV flag on the Methodist section. No activity or discussion for over 2 years. Per Template:POV can be removed, "In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant."
