I believe he was simply "Duke of Kintyre", "Kintyre and Lorne" being an unrelated Marquessate held by the Duke of Argyll. Proteus (Talk) 21:25, 10 Nov 2004 (UTC)

The arms displayed in this article are amachronistic, reflectimg James VI's succession to the thrones of England, Ireland and France. The proper arms are those of Scotland simpliciter.
