additions & corrections[edit]

I noticed that the origin given for the golden age Giganta was basically part of the modern day version. I combined the information into the correct part of the article and added a correct explanation of the golden age character.

Fair use rationale for Image:Giganta.jpg[edit]

Image:Giganta.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:42, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Smallville's depiction of Giganta[edit]

What is the justification/evidence that tells you Tess Mercer is a pre-powered Giganta?

Tess Mercer appears more like Mercy Graves/Miss Tessmacher, based on the similarity of their names. Secondly, she is closer to Mercy Graves than in that she is successor to Lex Luthor, just as she was in the Superman animated series and Justice League cartoons. Thirdly, Tess Mercer's character displays cunning and cold calculation, which Giganta does not. Fourthly, the Smallville version of Oliver Queen occasionally calls Tess by the pet name of Mercy because they have a prior romantic relationship.

Furthermore, in the context of the Smallville story, she is recruiting superpowered people (meteor freaks) because she is following the work of the Smallville version of Lex Luthor (Level 33.1).

Another conflict is that the Wiki entry for Mercy Graves contains this: Mercy_Graves#Smallville. Which page should a reader believe?

I suggest the paragraph about Tess Mercer as a "depiction of Giganta in other media" be deleted, or placed under some kind of "citation needed" banner, until we have more information.

Deleted unless the contributor can provide more evidence. Currently, there's far more evidence pointing to her being Mercy (her name, her nickname, her role as Lex Luthor's successor, the NOMERCY license plate, etc.). If she suddenly gains growth powers, I will stand corrected. But to me, a pretty lady recruiting super-villains is not enough evidence to point to Giganta. That could make her any number of characters. Rajah1 (talk) 06:52, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We have "Zeul", dc.wikia.org has "Zuel". Could someone please double-check that the source issue quoted/referred-to is being quoted here accurately? (If so, the pages at wikia will have to be moved...) Schissel | Sound the Note! 02:31, 12 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
