Track Listing[edit]

I first got this album back in '84 on cassette but the track listing was different. Instead of having 'Don't Wanna Let You Go' as a third track it was 'Battle Axe' instead. Just wondering if the original track listing on LP was the same or not back then. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.253.138.252 (talk) 14:35, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

First or third?[edit]

This section is to resolve a dispute between Quiet Riot's manager and the article as it stands, whether Metal Health is the first, or the third, Quiet Riot album.Frehley72 (talk) 19:29, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This section is to resolve a dispute between Quiet Riot's manager and the article as it stands, whether Metal Health is the first, or the third, Quiet Riot album.
My feeling is that management is trying to re-write history to make it look like the current Quiet Riot, which contains no members from the album Quiet Riot I, does in fact have original members. I have never in 27 years of being a collector, nor 12 years of running my record store, have ever heard of Metal Health being referred to as Quiet Riot's debut album. North American debut, yes. But I strongly resist the band's manager making this change as I believe it is self serving to their agenda, which is legitimizing the current lineup which in actuality has no original members.
The band has posted an interview with DuBrow where he refers to it as their first, however I think this is questionable as many bands like to rewrite their own history. Helix for example are going around saying they are touring with the "original lineup". When in reality their only original member is the singer. Just because a band says something doesn't make it so. There are also intefviews with DuBrow where he refers to QRI as the first album, such as Guitar For the Practicing Musician.
Management are arguing that the original Quiet Riot broke up, and then they started a new band (with two members from the first QR, DuBrow and Sarzo) also called Quiet Riot, and Metal Health is their debut album. I cannot see a single example on Wikipedia of any band whose discography is split between two phases of the band and considered separate entities. Deep Purple, for example.

Please discuss. I think is where a serious conflict of interest comes into play. Frehley72 (talk) 18:08, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I listed TWO references where Metal Health is listed as the debut album. If you're not going to take the bands word for their own history then whose? Trying to characterize my edits as self serving is just self serving for you. This has been the bands history long long LONG before the new line up. As per the interview with Kevin Dubrow....It's so funny. This band has always had to deal with backlash from Rhoads fans claiming they were using his legacy for their gain, which was absurd. They used the name because the names Spencer Proffer came up with were horrendous. KD and FB decided to use the name Quiet Riot cause it was a great name and the original version never got a record deal. So they have either backlash saying they capitalised on Randy Rhoads, but when they define the separation, they get backlash saying they are disrespecting mr Rhoads, or whitewashing their history. It's damned if you do, damned if you dont.Pinkmermaid (talk) 18:57, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

One of the refs was the band's official site, which as a primary source can't be used. It's basically the band backing themselves up. The interview with DuBrow is the only usable ref, but again I question it. The reason I question it is that he refers to QRI as the first album in other interviews, and that I've seen other people refer to "first albums" that are not. Alanis Morissette for example. I don't see what this has to do with Rhoads or Proffer? Frehley72 (talk) 19:04, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ok so I deleted the second ref. Just explained why they recycled the name. You obviously didn't know that. Pinkmermaid (talk) 19:22, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't care. It's the phrase "debut album" that is being disputed. Other editors will join in as I have filed a request for opinions. Just leave the article until this is resolved. Alright? Can we agree to disagree and let someone else deal with it? Frehley72 (talk) 19:26, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
These four musicians had never made an album together. None of them had ever recorded together before. They wrote all new material and did one cover from another band all together. There was nothing, that was even connected to the Rhoads QR, except they had the same singer and recycled the name. That IS a DEBUT. I know you are some fan and you have feelings about the subject. You don't really know much about it though. Pinkmermaid (talk) 19:36, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'll assume that means we'll agree to disagree and let someone else deal with it. They had the same singer, same bass player, and played the same songs: Slick Black Cadillac, Gonna Have A Riot, etc....Exact same logo used on Metal Health and The Randy Rhoads Years albums. Kind of strange that two different bands would use the same logo, no? Frehley72 (talk) 19:41, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't agree with you in any way. I'm just busier than you doing other things. Stalking wiki pages can't be a full time obsession for me. Pinkmermaid (talk) 21:01, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think you need to review Wikipedia's conduct rules. Frehley72 (talk) 21:06, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
