Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/CheeseDreams 2/Evidence

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anyone, whether directly involved or not, may add evidence to this page. Please make a header for your evidence and sign your comments with your name.

When placing evidence here, please be considerate of the arbitrators and be concise. Long, rambling, or stream-of-conciousness rants are not helpful.

As such, it is extremely important that you use the prescribed format. Submitted evidence should include a link to the actual page diff; links to the page itself are not sufficient. For example, to cite the edit by Mennonot to the article Anomalous phenomenon adding a link to Hundredth Monkey use this form: [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=Anomalous_phenomenon&diff=0&oldid=5584644] [1].

This page is not for general discussion - for that, see talk page.

Please make a section for your evidence and add evidence only in your own section. Please limit your evidence to a maximum 1000 words and 100 diffs, a much shorter, concise presentation is more likely to be effective. Please focus on the issues raised in the complaint and answer and on diffs which illustrate behavior which relates to the issues.

If you disagree with some evidence you see here, please cite the evidence in your own section and provide counter-evidence, or an explanation of why the evidence is misleading. Do not edit within the evidence section of any other user.

Be aware that the Arbitrators may at times rework this page to try to make it more coherent. If you are a participant in the case or a third party, please don't try to refactor the page, let the Arbitrators do it. If you object to evidence which is inserted by other participants or third parties please cite the evidence and voice your objections within your own section of the page. It is especially important to not remove evidence presented by others. If something is put in the wrong place, please leave it for the arbitrators to move.

Evidence presented by Sandor[edit]

Trolling and vandalizing user pages on Swedish Wikipedia[edit]

User:CheeseDreams has used several IP's to vandalize user pages on Swedish Wikipedia, e.g. from 81.156.183.69, 81.156.92.59 and 81.156.180.239, see evidence [2]. See also discussion about this [3].

Apparently CheeseDreams sees sock puppets everywhere. CD vandalized my user and talk page repeatedly on February 13th. He has also removed or edited my comments on other talk pages. This has got to stop, people! Sandor 02:36, 14 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Evidence presented by Ta bu shi da yu[edit]

29 January - ArbCom request against Slrubenstein[edit]

  • 14:47, 1 Feb 2005
    • Arbitrator Ambi rejects request and notes that she "condemn[s] what is becoming a blatant misuse of this page."
  • 14:53, 1 Feb 2005
    • Rejected by mav, who states that "This is starting to look a lot like harassment against Sl."

1 February - harassing Ta bu shi da yu[edit]

  • 09:34, 1 Feb 2005
    • Posts a message to Ta bu shi da yu's talk page stating that Ta bu shi da yu is a "literalist christian" (unsure what that means) and a "fundamentalist". Evidently did not recieve a reply that satisfied her from User:Dante Alighieri as she asks Ta bu shi da yu "Curiously, the IP address 67.15.54.16 is based in Melbourne, Australia, and I remember TBSDY claiming that they were in Australia. I wonder, TBSDY, do you speak Swedish?". The accusation is that TBSDY is using Rienzo as a sockpuppet. For the record, TBSDY neither speaks Swedish nor lives in Melbourne.

[comments moved to talk by sannse (talk) 11:56, 19 Feb 2005 (UTC)]

Please note: without a developer I cannot be certain that the posts from Special:Contributions/81.156.182.159 is CheeseDreams. I am presenting this as evidence because I strongly suspect that this is CheeseDreams, mainly because I've seen her post from this netblock before (it's is a BT cable IP address) and because of the response at [5].

  • 06:41, 3 Feb 2005
    • Sends a message to Rd232 stating that Ta bu shi da yu is performing POV edits. States (with regards to The Jesus Mysteries that "Also note that Freke & Gandy's book was regarded by the Daily Telegraph as "an erudite and well researched book stuffed with controversial ideas", and so inserting only the CNN viewpoint is a heavy and POV attempt to discredit it." - however, Ta bu shi da yu did not remove this material. (Ta bu shi da yu did remove unsourced books, however, from Historicity of Jesus due to significant POV bias and no real evidence of them being used in the article - no sources were cited! Those inline sources that are now in the text were mostly put in by Ta bu shi da yu.)

1 February - harasses Bacchiad[edit]

[comments moved to talk by sannse (talk) 11:56, 19 Feb 2005 (UTC)]

  • 14:04, 10 Feb 2005
    • Her answer, on User:Bacchiad's talk page, is "No." Clear evidence of willingness to harass people through accusations they are sock puppets.

Katoomba Christian Convention[edit]

  • 14 Feb 2005
    • CheeseDreams removed a copyvio from the article and made a personal attack against myself: "TBSDY, you have been working on this article for months, and invited people to assist you. Strange how there is nothing here then." For the record, I don't actually have to work on my focus article if I don't wish to. - Ta bu shi da yu 01:50, 19 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Feburary 25[edit]

Evidence presented by Thryduulf[edit]

17 Feb 2005 - Page blanking in this RFAr[edit]

19 Feb 2005 - Accusations of sockpuppetry[edit]

  • 10:16
    • I responded to the comments on my talk page and this page, and added the 09:52 evidence above. I also denied the accusation and invited the Arbitration committee to examine the claim and provided links to the contribution histories of myself (Thryduulf) and Rienzo. [12].
  • 10:17 - 10:19
    • I made a succession of minor ammendments to the layout and phrasing of my above response: [13] , [14] & [15].
  • 10:35
    • User:65.161.65.104 reponds to my response above by giving an explanation in more detail of why they beleive I am a sockpuppet of User:Rienzo and signs the edit User:CheeseDreams [16]. The allegations can be summarised as:
      • I made my first edit around the time User:CheeseDreams first accused user:Rienzo of sockpuppetry.
      • I have the same behaviour as Rienzo, specifically I have a high anger level and am in persuit of user:CheeseDreams.
      • That it is easy for her to tell I'm a sockpuppet because she is skilled in analysing text sources.
      • That my having a Scandinavian username is telling (because user:Rienzo is Sweedish).
    • She also commented that it would be interesting to know what my IP was.
  • 11:17
    • I provided detailed responses to her above points [17]
  • 11:25
    • I made a minor formatting error to the above [18]
  • 12:27
    • following user:Sannse's comments on the talk page [19] I refactored my side of the discussion to how it appears above, and moved the comments to the talk page. Edit to this page [20], edit to talk page [21]

24 Feb 2005[edit]

  • 15:11
    • user:CheezeDreams, who may be a CheeseDreams sockpuppet or impersonator, insterts an accusation of sockpuppetry on the user page of User:Grillo, a sys-op on sv. [22]

24th & 25th Feb 2005 - more responses and my request[edit]

  • 23:30
    • user:218.22.44.244 adds responses to my comments on the talk page. Written in the first person as if they are CD [23]
  • 00:22
    • I respond on the talk page. I also changed my previous bulleted format to a heading level one for clarity, and added [[user:218.22.44.244]] to the end of all the comments made by that user for clarity. [24]
  • 00:34
    • completley fed up with the (imho) baseless accusations of sockpuppetry I asked at WP:AN/I for my IPs etc, to be investigated to see if they are open proxies, and whether or not I am a sockpuppet of user:Rienzo or anyone else. [25]

Evidence presented by CheeseDreams[edit]

Explanation of above by CheeseDreams[edit]

On 14th February 2005, I (CheeseDreams), gave Rienzo my password, doing so on Rienzo's talk page. Any edit claiming to be by me (CheeseDreams) since then is likely to be Rienzo, or someone else.

In particular, due to the speed of reversion of the above, I note that the only person who would really know about the page blanking apart from Curps would be Rienzo (or whoever logged in to my account if it was not Rienzo). Since Thryduulf presents the evidence, then this leads to the conclusion that Thryduulf is a Rienzo sockpuppet.

Reponse by Thryduulf[edit]

(moved to talk page Thryduulf 13:17, 19 Feb 2005 (UTC))

Response to the response by CheeseDreams[edit]

If you are not Rienzo, then how come your first edit was around the same time that I discovered Rienzo's sockpuppets, and brought arbitration against Rienzo with the inevitable consequence of his being banned, and thus needing some other account to perform edits?

You also have a behavioural pattern identical to Reinzo, in particular, pursuit of CheeseDreams, as well as the anger level you exhibit (see your comment on the RFAR page on 14th of February), and also the immediacy and urgency with which you seem to react to my accusation of sockpuppetry (e.g. see the User:Sandor sock puppet for an example of this).

Remember, the skill of textual criticism to tell sources apart, and identify others, is something that is characteristic of the contributions to articles about sources that I have been editing. It is very easy for me to spot sockpuppetry.

It would be interesting to know what your IP address was. And also why you have a scandinavian username (remember, Rienzo is from Sweden).

Evidence provided by User:jguk[edit]

19 February[edit]

  • I noted this afternoon that CheeseDreams had given her password away on the 14 February[26]. I note that the evidence above also refers to this, As a precaution, I have changed all the passwords of the User:CheeseDreams, User:Cheesedreams, User:Cheese Dreams, User:Cheese dreams, User:Cheese-Dreams, User:Cheese-dreams and User:Cheese -dreams accounts, so only I have access. The other accounts listed on the complaint as possible sockpuppets did not share the same password. If the ArbCom or Jimbo so wishes, I will give the password to them. Apart from one edit as "CheeseDreams" on WP:AN/I to prove I had access, I have made, and will not make, any further edits under that name, jguk 14:39, 19 Feb 2005 (UTC)
  • I missed User:Cheese- dreams. I have now changed the password of that account too. All the accounts referred to above shared the same password, jguk 18:44, 19 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Evidence provided by User:Thuresson[edit]

19 February[edit]

CheeseDreams wrote on my user page that

Mind you, this is a sock puppet of User:Rienzo. CheeseDreams 13:46, 19 Feb 2005 (UTC) ([27])

which is quite ridiculous, especially since I gave evidence in the case against Rienzo (Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Rienzo/Evidence#Evidence presented by Thuresson). His/her reason for do so may have something to do with me reverting vandalism of a user page on the Swedish Wikipedia [28]. Thuresson 18:35, 19 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Response to Thuresson by CheeseDreams[edit]

You will note that the above referred to edit was on the 19th, weI gave Rienzo my account on 14th. You can get a developer to confirm that the above use of the CheeseDreams account was from Rienzo's swedish/proxy block of IP addresses, rather than a UK one.

There is a big problem with your defense here. It is your fault that this was used by Rienzo (if at all!) because you tried to cause disruption by posting your password for all to use. Don't expect any sympathy. - Ta bu shi da yu 00:57, 25 Feb 2005 (UTC)
