Sven Hüber[edit]

Thanks very much to those who did the translation of this page from German as I requested. Much appreciated. ,,,Trainspotter,,, 12:17, 13 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Hi, I'd like to know something more about this case. There is a "see also: Sven Hüber", but which role Sven Hüber plays, is not mentioned. I think that there may be some interesting detail, as the german wikipedia (or at least some admins) are doing censorship about this guy.. 85.178.219.4

This is where mention of Sven Hüber was recently added, without any explanation. So you might try to contact User:Gdr-history directly to ask wy it is linked. And perhaps it should not be, if he cannot explain. The only edits from this account were in one burst, so it looks like a possible throwaway, which does not inspire confidence. - Jmabel | Talk 18:02, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sven Hüber just happened to be a political officer, and later deputy company commander, of Border Regiment 33, which secured the border between Treptow and Neukölln, including the location where Chris Gueffroy was shot (during his watch). He was also a youth instructor, involved with the Freie Deutsche Junge. In other words, he was just another typical GDR puppet who managed to slither his way into hierarchy. But he has done very well since the Wende, despite his past. After failing to ban use of his name in writings about GDR border atrocities, to include the murder of Chris Gueffroy, he has risen to the rank of chairman of the main personnel council of the German Federal Police. Sven Hüber was really a non-player, outside of repeating propaganda, indoctination, and slogans to his troops, including the four that were involved the Chris Gueffroy murder; I therefore see no need for the link on the article, but perhaps User:Gdr-history did, so I'll leave it alone.
