Question[edit]

I removed the question about the Viet Nam battle stars, because the article mentions not only the Sixth Fleet in the 1960s but also Yankee Station, both of which ARE Viet Nam. Granted, it could be more explicit. --the Epopt 23:58 May 8, 2003 (UTC)

Hmph, I even wikified Yankee Station and it didn't register. (My mind is going, I can feel it.) As penance I'll write something about it. Stan 03:51 May 9, 2003 (UTC)

Interwiki pics[edit]

Hi All,

I've found a good pic of this ship in the "sister" article on the Japanese version of Wikipedia:

http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E7%94%BB%E5%83%8F:USS_Shangri-La.jpg

Is there any way this pic (and potentially many others) be "globalized" or maybe transferred to the english version?

Yes there is, but it depends on several things. If it is a free-use image, it can be placed on Wikimedia Commons, and is then useable in the other Wikipedias. On the image page in qestion, you will see that there is a box with the Commons symbol, and several links in the box. Although this one is in Japanese (which I don't read!), one of the links is bolded. Click on that, and it will take you to the Commons page for that pic. Use the filename from the Commons page, and place it in the article as you would any other image. Asd long as there is not another image on English Wiki with that exact filename, the commons file will be automatically copied over to English Wiki, and placed in the article. One thing: if the image is not already on Commons, you'd have to either upload the image to Commons or Englsih Wikipedia. Commons can only be used for free images, so you have to be what license the image is under (which can be difficult if it's in another language). Hope that helps, and if you have any questions about the process, just ask. - BillCJ 06:06, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New information for Fate: Original Bell[edit]
