IIHF[edit]

Hey, i looked at here http://www.iihf.com/channels10/iihf-world-championship-wc10/home/format-rules.html and there is this: Should three or more teams be tied on points, then a tie breaking formula will be applied as follows, creating a sub-group amongst the tied teams. This process will continue until only two teams remain tied. The game between the two remaining tied teams would then be the determining tie-breaker as the game between these two teams could not end as a tie. So Norway should be ahead of Czech Republic. Kante4 (talk) 21:11, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

According to the tie-breaking formula on the page:
Step 1: SWE, NOR and CZE all have three points from each other, and remain tied.
Step 2: Goal differences amongst the teams: SWE +2, CZE 0, NOR -2. Tie has been broken.
Therefore, SWE, CZE and NOR. These pages: [1], [2] and [3] say this, too. --Hautala (talk) 21:24, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This process will continue until only two teams remain tied. The game between the two remaining tied teams would then be the determining tie-breaker as the game between these two teams could not end as a tie.
= Sweden 1st and then the Game between Norway and Czech is the Tie-Breaker... The Games i put in as Norway 2nd and Czech 3rd are right with the ones from IIHF... Curious. ;) Kante4 (talk) 21:27, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sure you are mistaken. After step two, tie has been broken and there's no need to see the game between NOR and CZE. Also, the opening game of Group F, or game 26, included C3, which is now NOR. Compare [4] and [5].
The Tie is broken when you are down to 2 Teams and THEN the Game counts, so it is stated in the Rules. Let´s wait if IIHF changes it or if i am wrong, ;-) If so sorry... Kante4 (talk) 21:46, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Use Preview button[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your edits to Finland at the 2014 Winter Olympics , it is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, reduces edit conflicts, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Thank you. --Frze > talk 18:57, 21 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A reference problem[edit]

Hi! Some users have been working hard on Category:Pages with broken reference names.

Here you added a new reference ref name="noc-2101" but didn't define it. This has been showing as an error at the bottom of the article. "Cite error: The named reference REFNAME was invoked but never defined (see the help page)." Can you take a look and work out what you were trying to do? Thanks -- Frze > talk 18:58, 21 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Finland at the 2014 Winter Olympics[edit]

Hi. Great work you have done on the article Finland at the 2014 Winter Olympics! It looks awesome. Because some sections were not specifically about the 2014 winter Olympics I moved it to Finland at the Olympics or Finland at the 2010 Winter Olympics. I hope you understand why I have done that and you agree with it. If not, please ask or reply below! Happy editing! Sander.v.Ginkel (talk) 15:55, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The Wikipedia article for the qualification process is cross-country skiing at the 2014 Winter Olympics – Qualification. FIS has an online quota list at [6]. A more detailed quota list is at [7]. --Hautala (talk) 20:35, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

IHWC 2014[edit]

I`ve found scenario with Canada relegating. Czech Republic cannot relegate, so IF CAN finish with 10 points in three way tie with Denmark and Italy, it is still possible to relegate from 7th place and 14th place overall. --CZMajkl (talk) 21:07, 15 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

My analysis didn't take that into account. Thank you very much. --Hautala (talk) 20:28, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. August 2016[edit]

Please stop making disruptive edits, as you did at Finland at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 16:29, 13 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

As an neutral part, I find his warning of you ridiculous and non-explanatory. You have done literally hundreds of edits to Finland at the 2016 Summer Olympics, so warning you so unspecifically is completely meaningless and unhelpful. It's worth noting the disruptiveness and over-eagerness of Sportsfan 1234 to warn others has been discussed both within the Wikiproject and on his own user page. -- Lejman (talk) 04:00, 16 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Listing rankings where rankings exist[edit]

Hello! I noticed you and Raymarcbadz had opinions on wether to list Judo rankings or not at Finland's 2016 Summer Olympics page. Given this, I would be interested in your input on this proposal on the topic. Thanks in advance! -- Lejman (talk) 03:43, 16 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for September 11[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Finland at the 2016 Summer Paralympics, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page John Walker. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
