Why is this page here?[edit]

Since someone already questioned me about the purpose of this page on Wikipedia, I'm reproducing my response here:

  • The Index is not my website, nor is it created by me; it was created by Mathias Maul, who put it under the GFDL.
  • It is a very useful tool for fans of HHGttG, and quite relevant to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy page.
  • Having the Index on Wikipedia will allow it to be updated, it will allow editors to add new entries, and it will allow editors with different editions of the book to add information about their edition to the index.

That is why I felt that it would be both encyclopedic, and generally useful. JesseW 11:32, 2 Oct 2004 (UTC)

It's useful, but Wikipedia is not the place for long original documents like this. This should be on Wikisource. --Twinxor 20:14, 6 Oct 2004 (UTC)
I moved the text and the license to Wikisource. I changed this article to a stub. The license should be deleted, I think. --Dyss 00:53, 9 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Done. • Benc • 03:48, 9 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Merge or make an article about it. It is pointless to have just a few lines.. --Zer0~Gravity (Roger - Out) 11:28, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
