Reference[edit]

The reference to Ariane 5 dual launch capability is missing. There are two dual-launch structures: [SYLDA-5 and SPELTRA]. The former sits inside the faring, the latter forms the lower faring section itself. This is more relevant now than the obsolete earlier Ariane equivalent.

Versions should mention Ariane 6 of which baseline configuration was selected on November 2012 and also mentioned under Ariane 5 article. I do not know personally how to add this sadly into the Ariane rocket family main article. [Baseline Configuration Of Ariane 6 Selected]

Replaced the following with a link to Ariadne:

Greek mythological women who help Thésé to find the end of the labyrinth of the king Minos. She gives her a wire called the 'Ariane wire' to mark the way from the entrance.

It's obvious this whole page has been written by someone who doesn't speak english as their first language, there are lots of basic mistakes such as having commas instead of points for decimals, also the words used are directly translated from a foreign language rather than using the proper english equivalents. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.154.87.105 (talk) 16:24, 17 June 2009 (UTC) Ariane is basically selected from a Français mythological name Ariande.It is a three holed supercharger Rocket made by ESA and France.[reply]

Model[edit]

Hello There is a model (scale 1/1) of the Ariane 5 at "Le musée de l'air et de l'aviation" in Paris. Of course it is not a real detailled model, but it gives you a good idea of the demission.

Isn't in the Musée de l'air et de l'espace at Le Bourget, near Paris ? Rama

"Storable" vs "hypergolic"[edit]

I edited the references to "storable" propellants to read "hypergolic propellants". "Storable" is an outdated term that refers to the fact that ICBMs and other missiles fueled with hypergolic fuels can be stored indefinitely at room temperature. Ariane is a launch vehicle, not a military weapon, so indefinite storage isn't a consideration. Strictly speaking, the original Ariane second stage wasn't even "storable"; though it used hypergolic propellants, they were chilled to cram more into the tanks. Pictures of early Ariane launches show panels of insulation falling off that were used to keep the second stage tanks cold. Karn (talk) 01:44, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
