Factual falacy[edit]

Kosheen did have concert in Serbia, but it happened in 2001, as can be read on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exit_(festival) 212.200.129.29 (talk) 13:14, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Untitled[edit]

Kosheen are a brilliant band - whatever music you like, they'll have done somthing which you will enjoy listening to. Despite having a drum'n'bass quality to their music, they profess to not being a drum'n'bass band - they have their own individual sound which can't be labelled. I entirely agree. Kosheen will hopefully be releasing a new album in the coming months, which is eagerly anticipated by all fans. Their two previous albums, Resist and Kokopelli, have featured many songs - from the hit singles Hide U and Catch to those less well known such as Wasting My Time and Harder. On their webpage (http://www.kosheen.com) there is an audio/video page where you can listen to songs and watch videos for free. Check it out. You won't be disappointed!

Does the word "sheen" really mean "old"? The closest word I can find is "shiin", and that means "consonant" or "cause of death".

As the article states, Kosheen is apparently derived from the Japanese word for old 'ko' (http://www.j-talk.com/nihongo/search/kanjisearch.php?skanji=%E5%8F%A4 dictionary entry for 古) and 'shin' (http://www.j-talk.com/nihongo/search/kanjisearch.php?skanji=%E6%96%B0 dictionary entry for 新). The correct pronunciation for 'shin' is the same as shin bone but with a little imagination it becomes the 'sheen' in Kosheen. Please note that 'Koshin' (古新) does not exist in Japanese.

---

Some dates in the article are wrong, if as their website says Daren went to university in 1989 he must have been born in 1971 or 1970 not 1974

* It's also possible that he went to university slightly later in life. Perhaps taking a few years off? I'm not sure about this, though, just pointing out an error in your logic! :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.136.152.125 (talk) 00:07, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

History[edit]

I've removed the history section, it would need to be rewritten, with sources. If the author can providfe sources, I'll help with the rewrite! Best, NonvocalScream (talk) 02:19, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

'Currently'[edit]

"Kosheen are currently working on their solo projects [5]"

'Currently' is a silly expression in an encyclopedia.

  • Why it should be changed: Because the band is active and touring around the world. But the page says that they're focus on their solo projects.
  • References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button): https://kosheen.live/about/

Original Members[edit]

Two of the original founding members of the band (Darren Beale, and Mark Morrison) have been completely wiped out from this wikipedia page. The "official" kosheen page has no references to them either. So, the statement in this page about the band "reuniting" to play live in 2019 is totally false. Singer Sian Evans is basically touring with a backup band, playing Kosheen's music. I am sure all original members have worked out some kind of financial deal, where she is allowed to tour as kosheen, but she or the other members of the band are not allowed to create music under the bands' name, which explains why the real kosheen band has not produced any new music for more than a decade. 190.156.68.134 (talk) 02:41, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
