Proper citations required[edit]

If you are entering historical details in the Pala article, please provide proper citations. Also, it would be good if you could sign your messages in the discussion page. --Rocksea 03:09, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Place name / Title[edit]

Don't you think that the title should be Pala and not Palai !! I am from Pala and we dont use the name Palai generally or even officially. It should be change to Pala, with Palai as a.k.a. --Rocksea 06:35, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Have changed the same today. --Rocksea 03:00, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Frequent Vandalisation[edit]

I am the original contributor of the page and is disgusted to see point of views, vandalisations frequently happening. I dont see how someone could enforce discipline in this milieu. I had thought of expanding on but now I see no point.

Could you add some or give some details about the Pala Kurishupally? Vachan2020 (talk) 10:53, 5 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

POV[edit]

I tried to improve some of the latest additions, but a lot of it didn't make much sense to me and it seems POV. Anybody who knows more than me should give it a shot. Everyking 03:41, 27 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Hi, Pala is my native place. When I get time, I would add/edit some more basic details. Cheers, --Rocksea 08:30, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pala MSL[edit]

Hey! is Palai 1172 m above Sea Level? That's more than 3000 ft!

needs editing to give more importance to the genuinity of articles.i heard like pala is above sealvel but not 1000+ m.but not so hilly as Thodupuzha?

verified.around 58.0 Meters above sea level.but Erattupetta is much higher!

pala is 56.7 MSL

Pala is christian only town?[edit]

give more details about town.pala is christian only town?

There is no "Christian only" town in Kerala. Even though a good majority of people are Roman Catholic Syrian Christians there are a good number of Hindus esp those belonging to the Nair Community in Pala.

pala achayans[edit]

Infact i thought like Palai is the most Catholic town and area in our India.but our neighbouring state,Tamilnadu's Nagercoil District is the most conjusted Christian Catholic Area, though they are decedents of St.Francis Xavier and We,St.Thomas.... Nagerkovil and Kanyakumari have areas were only christians are there even hindus are rare.but..they now also keeps caste system ie;they call themselves Roman Catholic Latin X'ians, but again into their older castes they are divided into Nadar's,Thevar's,Udayor's,Chekkiliyar's etc..

Nilackal and Pala[edit]

i heard catholics of Pala/Kanjirappilly have some connections with a place called Nialckal.do u know more about that?

St Thomas is believed to have founded the church at Nilackal in the eastern high ranges. Nilackal was on the trade route between Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The Christian community of Nilackal is believed to have fled to places like Palai & Kanjirappally to escape from the looting and rioting from the Tamil Nadu side.

Hi, I saw a statue of Budha in Trivandrum Museum which is found from Pala. So I guess before hindus/ christans came to pala there was a strong budhist community. But there is no information about how this budhist community disappeard from pala. Anyway the catholic community in pala is more than 1000 years old because the Cathedral church itself is built in AD.1002 in supervision of Meenachil karthas.

Also I think, pla may be the one twon in india with so much Catholic Chuarches in a small town. Obviously, each church has an attached school or hospital. So Pala is heading other twons in kearala in the number of schools and colleges considering the size of this small town.

the wiki history about palai is not even match the written or recorded history . lots of manipulation of facts and bias are evident prima facia.

From Palazhy to Rubber Pal[edit]

Carrying the evolution of the name of Pala from the Ocean of Milk (Palazhy) to Latex (Rubber Pal) is really funny.--202.83.36.138 04:48, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kris Gopalakrishnan[edit]

Kris Gopalakrishnan (CEO of Infosys Technologies Ltd) has a Pala connection, as his father is from Ramapuram. His mother is from Harippad. Although he grew up and had his studies mainly in Thiruvananthapuram, he used to make frequent visits to Ramapuram during his childhood and early youth. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.83.34.64 (talk) 04:53, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PalaiPala, Kerala – The place is spelled "Pala" in almost all government documents as well as a google search will yield many times higher results for that spelling. "Palai" is a very rarely used spelling and I guess that spelling is adopted just to avoid a disambiguation. But I think we should continue to use official names for places which is obviously "Pala" and not "Palai" Malayala Sahityam (talk) 21:25, 31 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
