No Rain Day

No Rain Day in the Salem, Oregon (USA)

It hasn't rained on July 12 in the Salem, Oregon (USA) since the beginning of weather logging 113 years ago.

Is it just me or is this wrong. Shawn Smith seems to be a singer, I can't find anything on Max Dishler.

Birth year of Abigail Williams

She is listed has being born in 1674, but the Salem Witch Trials occured in 1692 (roughly), which would have made her 18 while they occured. According to the Wiki article, Abigail was 11 during the trials. A fictionalized account of the events (Arthur Miller's "The Crucible" puts her at 17.

This event does not appear to meet global notability requirements for inclusion. It has no historical significance. -- Mufka ^{(u) (t) (c)}

Disco Demolition Night appears to be repeatedly removed and then readied to this list. Although this event is not specifically endorsed by the guidelines for including events in this list, it also does not appear to be specifically denied. This was a cultural riot and I believe it should be included rather than excluded based on this.

Holidays and observances

The feast of Peter and Paul is June 29 on the Julian calendar which falls on July 12 on the Gregorian calendar. This is handled at the section called Eastern Orthodox Liturgics. That section would have Peter and Paul on June 29 and then explain all this. I suggest it be removed from here. In any case it is only correct here for those Eastern Orthodox who follow the Julian calendar - thus the Greeks and many others do NOT celebrate it on July 12. --Richardson mcphillips (talk) 18:59, 16 June 2017 (UTC)

The general rule of thumb is to avoid using the Old Calendar and stick with the Georgian Calendar; except if the observance satisfies the notability requirements on both Old Calendar and Georgian Calendar dates.

The feast of Peter and Paul was placed here because July 12 is a notable date for a significant number of Christian orthodox e.g. the Greek Old Calendarists, Russian Orthodox Church, Serbian Orthodox Church, Montenegrin Orthodox Church, Jerusalem Orthodox, and others. Thus the July 12 date for Feast of Peter and Paul satisfies the notability requirements.

Yes it has been explained in the Orthodox liturgic link, but the notability of the July 12 date means that it is ok to be mentioned again in here (and on June 29). There are other Christian feast following the double date trend because both are notable: the Assumption of Mary (a public holiday in Macedonia, Georgia, and Serbia), and the Old Christmas (public holiday in Russia and others).--Rochelimit (talk) 07:24, 18 June 2017 (UTC)

@Toddst1: I don't understand why Wikipedia has added more content about Indian things, and really do not like it. I... just do not, and would have reverted the pending edit. I also do not think Indians are not really notable, too. A Great Catholic Person (talk) 05:51, 15 July 2017 (UTC)

If a person has an article (and meets WP:BIO), and their birth/death date can be reliably verified, then they can be added. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Rajendra Kumar meets these simple criteria, and as such can be listed, no matter your views on articles on Indians. SkyWarrior 18:29, 15 July 2017 (UTC)
