Would you like Babylon ltd/Temp speedy deleted? Rich Farmbrough 21:12, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Yes, certainly - Thanks UrsulaR 18:00, 2 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Hi UrsulaR. Hmm, maybe I was too harsh in the VfD, but:

1.) I didn't write the first version of this article, someone else in the company did, simple copy & pasted some of the texts in our website.

That was a big mistake (however well intended). He/she shouldn't have done so. It's where the troubles began.

4.) The changes I did, and that found so much criticism by Hoary, were mainly a response to some of the votes above from people being unsure if Babylon is "worth" an WP article. I had the feeling that important info was missing in the article and that it simple became too short. So I made a new version.

That was a good idea, of course.

7.) My personal opinion set aside - have you got any notion of how many of WP's company articles have been written by a "disinterested person" and how many are done by the companies themselves?

Good question. Too many are done either by the companies or by admirers (or just lazy people) copying stuff by the companies. Others again are clearly not by the companies (either directly or indirectly) but are no better -- indeed, often worse.

I'll add that I've nothing against your company and from what little I know about it I think it's much more noteworthy, interesting, significant, etc. than a lot of the subjects in WP. (It seems that if you're a character in a video game or have ever appeared in front of the US public, you merit your own article.)

Your two other articles are very interesting and I'm sure that you can work on additional good articles in spare moments. I hope that the experience with one article doesn't dissuade you from this, and wish you a happy future here. (Actually I'm rather a newcomer myself.)

No need to reply; but if you want to, please do so here. (I'll be "watching" it.) -- Hoary 10:25, 2005 Apr 4 (UTC)

Yehoshua Sobol - source of page content[edit]

UrsulaR, I share your regard and respect for this Israeli playwright, and am concerned about a problem with the Wikipedia page about him. I visited that page to obtain particular information, and found that its content, as of your edit of January 10, 2005, seems to have been copied verbatim from the ALMA website. This was (a) unattributed (i.e. provided as an External link, not cited as a Reference) and (b) possibly a copyright violation. Please address this issue; I'd suggest consulting the New Contributors Help page if necessary. -- Thank you, Deborahjay 01:09, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yehoshua Sobol - source of page content[edit]

Dear Deborah, I hope you will read these lines, obviously I never came around of doing much at Wikipedia. You are absouletly right, but I do believe that somewhere and a long time ago I stated that the texts were taken with permission of Joshua Sobol and Paulus Manker. Both are personal friends of mine. I reentered this information into the entry. Please let me know if you think that this is enough. Regards - UrsulaR 04:11, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello UrsulaR! Thank you for your contributions.
