I think commentation is marginal English - certainly not a common word. Charles Matthews 13:18, 11 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Sports Commentators?[edit]

Why are sports commentators listed here such as Yogi Berra and John Madden? I can see Howard Cosell because I think he did the news and political programs at one point, in spite of its failure... But why would Berra and Madden be included here? If that is the case we would have to include virtually every media participant including celebrities that voice their opinions... I would like to remove Yogi Berra, John Madden and Joe Morgan from this list of social commentators as they are already listed in sportscaster (Madden's picture is featured there)... Please comment... Stevenmitchell 02:13, 16 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

For whatever reasons, this entry was set up with disambiguations as well, i.e. "Commentator, a graded stakes winning racehorse, out of Distorted Humor and half brother to Funny Cide and Flower Alley" which should be on a disambiguation page only... Also, it is worth noting that almost every entry for a personage on this page is a sports commentator which is already covered in sports commentator, sportscaster and colour commentator. This article is desperate of revision since its orientation is primarily sports, which is heavily covered elsewhere... Stevenmitchell 09:03, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
