Bug Juice as slang[edit]

This page contains no mention of the slang definition of bug juice: any cheap fruit flavored beverage, particularly a red colored one. This definition comes from the supposed use of Cochineal as the food coloring. --Elijah 21:54, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've only heard "bug juice" as a slang term for insect repellent. That would make sense since it's a camp show. 69.196.188.102 (talk) 05:01, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bad Shape[edit]

This article is in bad shape. When I stumbled across it, it looked as if it hadn't been updated since shortly after the first season ended (1997?)! I'm going to be cleaning this article up over the next few days and keeping an eye on it for the rest of my stay here on Wikipedia. --Hersch 06:10, 17 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Eva and Jen[edit]

What is the most likely reason that they were kicked out of the camp? What "illegal substance" did they most likely have? And was it newsworthy at the time?

i believe it was most likely cigarettes. and stupid disney just made a huge deal about it. i think if it was marijuana they would have called the police.

Yeah, it does seem unlikely that they would have marijuana. Condoms I'm not so sure about either, so it probably was cigarettes. Was it in the news at all at the time though? 69.40.245.167 03:47, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The REAL reason that Eva and Jen were asked to leave the camp was because they were bullying junior campers Mallorey T. and Nicole J. from Hills cabin. After the producers realized that this was going on, they were quick to send the girls back to their homes.

Here is an interview with Eve LaFountain discussing what happened: Merlan, Anna. "Eve from ‘Bug Juice’ Would Love It If You’d Stop Emailing Her." Vice. (March 29, 2021). https://www.vice.com/en/article/akdbqk/what-happened-to-eve-from-90s-reality-tv-show-bug-juice-interview-v28n1

Last Names and WP:BLP1E[edit]

An OTRS ticket complaint was filed ( # 2009050410066807 ) by one of the actors, complaining that listing their last name was a privacy violation. Per WP:BLP1E I believe that they are correct and that this is unnecessary intrusion into the actor/actresses' privacy. I have deleted the last name as requested. Please do not reinsert it. The REAL bug juice[edit]

I don't care about a stupid Disney show, I want to know about BUG JUICE -a dye supposedly made from insects, used as a generic term for red liquids such as artificially colored drinks (i.e. red Kool Aid). 69.230.116.133 (talk) 16:49, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Campers, Where are they now?[edit]

All of the original campers are adults now and well into their college and careers. Several of them have families, and some of them have moved out of the country.

Last time we checked, Jenny, Marsha and Kisha were well into their college years.

Mallorey and Nicole were still best friends and still attending the same high school.

Mallorey's fling with Asa was long time ended.

Alison is a journalist

Lauren is in medical school. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lmplumle (talkcontribs) 17:41, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Connor was working full time.

Everett moved to Australia.

John, Jason and Malik were finishing up their senior years at high school, hoping to all attend the same college. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bugjuicecrazy (talkcontribs) 03:14, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed revival split[edit]

It's my proposition that the revival should be split and treated as a separate series. While yes, it's virtually the same series, the fact that it's been so long since the original and the fact that it has a new title—Bug Juice: My Adventures at Camp—is more evidence for this to be considered a separate series for article purposes. We can of course mention the revival here and the original over on the revival article. Not only that, but we'd also be preventing WP:BALANCE issues. Support as proposer. Amaury (talk | contribs) 18:45, 30 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

:Support: I definitely see this as a case different than from Double Dare--Harmony944 (talk, Twitter) 18:49, 30 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Support Too long since the original, enough to consider this a new series based on the old one. Maybe similar in concept but will have new production info, cast and crew. Geraldo Perez (talk) 19:57, 30 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Support I had trouble trying to clean this article up. Disney will almost definitely treat it like a new show - it would be confirmed if they refer to it as "Season 1". SatDis (talk) 11:44, 1 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Support It should just be added to related shows on the infobox parameters. 17 years gap between the original and the revival is way too long. Hence, the new title as well. Are they doing the same camps? Probably not. The camp staff aren't even going to be the same people. — Lbtocthtalk 17:07, 7 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: My Adventures at Camp would at least get a section titled Revival that would at least describe the announcement and premise of the revival and premiere date. Just as when a movie gets a sequel—Harmony944 (talk, Twitter) 17:10, 7 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Lbtocth: You may be interested in the same discussion at Talk:Double Dare (Nickelodeon game show)#Both revival series should be split out, where it's been about 18 years between the first revival and this current, second revival. About the same time gap as with Bug Juice and its revival here. Amaury (talk | contribs) 17:16, 7 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: Gap between last incarnation and revival shouldn’t be a factor. Precedent says so—Harmony944 (talk, Twitter) 17:20, 7 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Comment:If they have a whole new different cast, then I think it should be split into separate T.V. series. — Lbtocthtalk 01:46, 8 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • A Draft article has been prepared by Amuary, and will be moved into mainspace around the time of the premiere. Considering the revival looks to be substantially different from the original, right down to a different title, I think a separate article for the revival is appropriate. --IJBall (contribstalk) 14:27, 16 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
