Saloio

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Saloio is a non-urban person, i.e., a person living outside a large city in the countryside. Originally, it was a term applied to those who lived in the rural areas surrounding the Portuguese capital Lisbon.[1]

Recently,[when?] a cheese manufacturer from the region of Ponte do Rol, 50 km (31 mi) north of Lisbon branded its product Saloio.
