Hi I'm Gary, I have a BSc. (Biology Major) and a Dip. of CIS (Computer Information Systems). I'm interested in promoting the adoption of the Unicode character set. I believe that First Nations peoples can better promote themselves and their languages if they can display them on the Internet. Here is what my name looks like in Cree, if your browser supports Unicode.(ᑊᔭᕆ) When I write web pages I generally use the UTF-8 encoding. A good browser will handle right to left character placement automatically when it sees characters from a language written from right to left, like Arabic or Hebrew. I am very fond of the fact that there is a multilingual aspect to the Wikipedia, and am sorry I don't know more than a smattering of words in different languages. As a Canadian I should know more than the feeble amount of French I learned in high school. I have been a proud Linux user since 1995. I don't think (GNU/Linux) is superior to BSD as some might and if I had discovered the Internet before 1994 I probabaly would have been a proud BSD user instead. Other things I'm interested in: Conservation - wildlife and sustainability , The Final Frontier - The deep Ocean and L'espace Exterieur, Artificial Intelligence - still waiting to see Natural Wisdom though... ,Different forms of ownership and intellectual propertry rights - GPL, and the Creative Commons Licences.

(the 'icosohedral?' world is in your hands)

Here is a picture of me with a beard. I no longer have the beard it's a nice little pic anyway.
