Robert Heinlein has a story (I forget which one, asking on an SF/Heinlein fan newsgroup will surely get you the story name) that uses the words merry widow for a condom, and ISTR I heard that usage elsewhere. This was the only meaning of merry widow I knew before reading this page, and a page that links to it, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genericized_trademark
Strapless?[edit]
The article says it is a "short, strapless corset" but the garment in the photo has straps. Either the description or the photo is wrong. 74.97.12.152 23:02, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
