Talking to myself.

Thanks for pointing that out, Raazer. I didn't know that stuff got reflected there at all (interesting that the VfD process has increased it from 0 hits to 6!). As you observe, it isn't quite right but I don't think it's wrong enough to worry about; I think the guy was just filling in a template quickly. Securiger 13:50, 5 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Copyvio tag on your user page[edit]

I'd suggest that you remove the {{copyright}} tag from your user page - it doesn't do what I think you thought it was doing... it shows up in the list of copyright problems too.... --Alvestrand 15:11, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the tip, I have no idea why it was on there in the first place, maybe it had a different function at an earlier date. Anyway, now it's gone.Raazer 19:38, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article on Engine Braking[edit]

I have read your comment that you wrote in 2005 :( where you explain that engine braking in an ordinary car does not use the compression stroke to dissipate energy (as the article erroneously states). I fully agree with you, since I realise that air is elastic and will just give back the energy during the power stroke. From what I understand, in petrols the braking comes from the intake manifold vacuum formed when the engine tries to suck air through a closed throttle, and in diesels (I'm not sure about this) they add something to the exhaust pipe which makes it hard for the engine to push exhaust out, thus making the exhaust stroke a bit like a compression stroke in that the engine has to compresses the exhaust gases to get them through the exhaust system. I am asking you to please re-write the article as you see fit since you clearly know more about the subject than I do and you realise that the current article is completely wrong.
