Hello Przemysław, I just found your notice that you have given up on contributing something useful to Polish history. That is a real pity... I, myself, was quite active on Wikipedia on the field of History of Germany and gave up after a while because I too felt that one idiot can wear out 10 sensible people. I have stayed away from anything related to Poland and Germany and WW2 for obvious reasons (I just think that those article should better be written by those not involved), but I just wanted to drop you a cheerful note and that I am glad that you were trying to bring back some rationality. Looking at what happened to Silesia, Szczecin and other pages, I do wonder if the Wikipedia idea has its limits. Cheers from Berlin in these times that do not seem to be the easiest for Germans and Polish to get along. (If you want to write, I still look at my talk page, too.) djmutex 16:02, 9 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Hej. Pozdrawiam, Kpalion 15:02, 4 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Indeed, proper declension should be used. But should we correct the names that are used in reality as well? Halibutt 09:57, Dec 4, 2004 (UTC)

Yup, in some cases the webpages of the councils use the incorrect names. Halibutt 13:11, Dec 4, 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

"inuse"[edit]

Hi, is it any of your business how long it takes me to finish the Vienna Opera Ball article? Is there a time limit ("only one edit and that was over 12 hours ago")? What do you mean by "only one edit"? Is that bad in itself? So you're inviting other people to do the same work although it can only be posted once. The template says something like "as a courtesy". Well, I don't consider such behaviour polite. <KF> 15:16, Jan 28, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for your answer. If you say so I believe you, but it does not say so anywhere, does it? Well, never mind. Thanks again, and all the best, <KF> 18:22, Jan 28, 2005 (UTC)

Hi. Since you have edited on pages with disputes about the names of Polish/German locations, I would invite you to vote on Talk:Gdansk/Vote to settle the multi-year dozens-of-pages dispute about the naming of Gdansk/Danzig and other locations. The vote has two parts, one with questions when to use Gdansk/Danzig, and a second part affecting articles related to locations with Polish/German history in general. An enforcement is also voted on. The vote has a total of 10 questions to vote on, and ends in two weeks on Friday, March 4 0:00. Thank you -- Chris 73 Talk 11:40, Feb 18, 2005 (UTC)

Hi Przepla. Are you interested in a German-Polish meetup on the island of Uznam/Usedom? If so, add your name to this list: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Treffen_der_Wikipedianer_auf_Usedom/Spotkanie_Wikipedystów_na_Uznam. -- Baldhur 9 July 2005

Rollback and godmode-light[edit]

Hiya, Przepla, I noticed you use the godmode-light script. As you use an emulation of the rollback feature I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on a proposal I have which would grant the rollback feature to those who request it, similar to Wikipedia:Requests for adminship, except with a lower threshold. The proposal is at Wikipedia:Requests for rollback; your comments are welcomed at Wikipedia talk:Requests for rollback. Thanks! Talrias (t | e | c) 17:07, 20 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Incest[edit]

I mereley removed it because I am familiar with individual trying to demonize a religion based on subjective readings of texts (not that I am suggesting that was the purpose). If you (or whoever wrote that) can provide a legitimate source that such a verse is used to condone incest, by all means. I highly doubt it though, since all monothiestic religions prohibit incest. Concerning eastern European marriages. Although all places vary, marrying a first or second cousin is not considered incest, but is still frowned upon. In Ireland for example, some communities actively marry first cousins.

WP:POLMIL[edit]

Hi there! You might want to know that the good ol' Wikipedia:WikiProject Polish Army has been restarted, this time as WP:POLMIL, a part of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history. As the main tasks of the previous WikiProject have been fulfilled (both Polish-Bolshevik and Polish Defensive wars are now featured), we might want to start yet another quest for some holy grail. Any ideas? Halibutt 14:46, 7 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A request for assistance[edit]

Would you support the concept of moving the Earhart "myths" to a separate page or article? The reason for my suggesting this is that the main article should be an accurate and scholarly work while the speculation and conspiracy theories surrounding the disappearance of Amelia Earhart are interesting, they belong in a unique section. Most researchers, as you know, discount the many theories and speculation that has arisen in the years following her last flight. Go onto the Earhart discussion page and register your vote/comments...and a Happy New Year to you as well. Bzuk 03:02 3 January 2007 (UTC).

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Daria Morgendorffer (from Fire!).jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Daria Morgendorffer (from Fire!).jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:09, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Wlodzimierz_Cimoszewicz.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Wlodzimierz_Cimoszewicz.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:46, 28 October 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. OsamaK 16:46, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Nadia The Secret of Blue Water heroine.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 00:42, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
