Wiryeseong in Liaodong? Are we serious?[edit]

(Standard disclaimer: I'm not a historian.) I seriously doubt that any respectable scholar would consider the possibility of Wiryeseong in anywhere but near the Han River.

The edit is made by an unnamed user from 75.49.2.82, destroying a lot of (that is, relative to the length of the article) useful information:

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wiryeseong&diff=89358720&oldid=72502962

He also added similar stuff into a bunch of articles on the same day:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/75.49.2.82

Now, now, it becomes interesting, because he apparently added to a remark by User:Hairwizard91, as if he is the same guy:

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Unified_Silla&diff=prev&oldid=89298508

And, finally, when I visit User:Hairwizard91, I find that he is blocked for being a sock puppet of User:Goguryeo! Who the hell is this "Goguryeo" guy?

Anyway, talking of this page again, the article references a book by a Song Jongseong (송종성). I did a quick google search and can't but suspect that he's one of those non-mainstream history cranks.

I don't know how long this URL will last, but some guy just scanned and posted a section of Song's other book, and Song seriously believes that the Three Kingdoms (all three of 'em!) started somewhere in Manchuria. (Sorry, maybe even further. Where in the hell is Chinese Habuk (河北)?)

Can somebody look into this? I think we may need to revert his edits... (Fortunately there aren't many.) Yongjik 09:38, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just found a post apparently written by Song Jongseong himself:

http://www.baedalguk.com/bbs/zboard.php?id=bekje&page=2&sn1=&divpage=1&sn=off&ss=on&sc=on&select_arrange=headnum&desc=asc&no=80

LOL, look at that site. "National Movement Headquarter for Reclamation of History of Baedal Nation and Manchuria," (배달국 국사찾기/만주찾기 국민운동본부) indeed! He is a crank. Ladies and gentleman, this case is closed. Yongjik 09:47, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, unless s/he's implying that Baekje ppl came from China & crossed the Yellow Sea... Just report if you see sock puppetry & repeated vandal attacks. (Wikimachine 21:26, 10 September 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Thank you for your timely work!  :) Yongjik 06:43, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I just purged two references to 송종성 from Biryu and Onjo of Baekje. It seems they were the only articles in the wikipedia where the guy was referenced... Unfortunately the misinformation survives in vi:Ôn Tộ. Anybody speaking Vietnamese here?  :( Yongjik 18:57, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I asked in the Vietnamese wikipedia guestbook and somebody kindly removed the misinformation. ^.^ Yongjik 02:11, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
