Sharia in the Bible[edit]

I have no idea, but it was listed on vfd through a red link, and it looks messy and probably inherently POV, but might merit inclusion or redirection somewhere. Dunc|☺ 20:10, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete. All religious traditions have laws and codes of behavior, with much in common. Sharia by definition is Islamic, and this is nonsensical, despite the points in common: nothing salvageable to merge. — Bill 21:04, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete: Original research. The author's argument is that "nomos" gets translated as "Law" in English Bibles, but in Arabic Bibles it's translated as "sharia," and therefore "sharia" is a concept that goes beyond Islam. Ok. Let's perform the translation: "law is common to all the Abrahamic religions." Yes, it is. However, "Sharia" in English is used specifically to refer to a code of Islamic justice, and it's not therefore part of the other religions. Geogre 21:39, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)
