Untitled[edit]

Zoney, you made a few changes to the original stub I wrote, which contradict my experience in Donabate. But, since I only visited Ireland for a week and Donabate three times, I may be wrong - can you help me understand? My problems are:

  • I remember measuring Donabate's distance to Dublin (e.g., St. Stephens Green, where I stayed) to be roughly 10 miles, not 20 miles.
  • I remember being told that Danabate is in County Fingal - and you changed it to County Dublin. I was under the impression that County Dublin was only Dublin itself, and that the suburbs north of Dublin were County Fingal... So which is the correct one?

Thanks in advance, Nyh 08:41, 8 Nov 2004 (UTC)

A recheck of the distances - I wasn't being careful in measuring the map. It's about 25km, which when converted, is 15.5 miles. See for yourself here [1], hope the link works.
As regards Fingal (see page), we are both entirely correct. Fingal is an administrative subdivision of County Dublin. Although the local authority is indeed "Fingal County Council", the area is not regarded as a true county. (There will always be 32 of those :-)

the bit about the old church in the grounds of the new church is wrong, the possible old church is miles away from the new one, in Ballymadrough. I havent got the right details, so I'll leave it for now. Bolak77 16:39, 13 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

How come the Donabate page is still marked a stub, yet it is bigger than the Swords page. Bolak77 16:39, 13 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

32 counties? In the spirit of professionalism, political points are best left aside in an encyclopedia, quip though it is. Watch it! (-Unsigned User)

Saving the old map we had here. What I liked about it was that it highlighted Dublin.

Donanbate (red dot) and Dublin (light green) shown in County Dublin, itself shown in Ireland.

Hi, to whoever changed "Church of the Beast" to "Sunday of the Beast", Domhnach originally meant church or temple also, so "Church of the Beast" is correct. I'm going to change it back.Bolak77 15:43, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

One of the links wasn't working for me...I think the link to the community club should be removed.

Regarding calling the Donabate Parish Council unofficial or informal, there is no need for this extra adjective, community council will suffice imo and I intend to retain it as such unless a strong arguement to the contrary is provided. Bolak77 15:45, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
