Having been stationed at Lages Field from 1981 until 1983, it is nice to see an article on this.

I think the Lajes Field article should be merged with this one.

The official name is Lajes Field. See their website [1]. Also note that the Lajes Field article was the first of the three to exist as well. Google test also favors Lajes Field (37,900 hits) [2], Lajes Air Base (1,440 hits) [3], Lajes Air Station (468 hits) [4] --Holderca1 18:56, 19 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
