PURPOSE[edit]

I'm only here to address those who think they can assert some sort of authority in this type of safe environment. In some cases these people lack social skills, have problems with authority and for the most part works well alone rather than in a group setting. It's important for me that like the average person, we understand what we read. This site can be useful but once people complain about the content and the sources, it becomes more complicated. Sometimes that is taken way too far and the main issue at hand, which would be educating, is left to the side.

Whether these "editors" on Wikipedia agree with me or not is irrelevant. The end result is always the same and that is I make these people think twice of what steps they take, whether it is verifying or citing the exact source or giving credit where credit is due. I'm only here to make sure that things are done right, and not have the public be mislead by a select few on Wiki who think that they're being productive in some way.

BACKGROUND[edit]

I've been casually reading through old Hawaiian newspapers for the past 22 years looking for anything interesting. It started off with looking for genealogical information but then I realized many of the articles and personal stories and laments were very valuable. My interest in genealogy that started 22 years ago has lead me to where I am now with all the knowledge I've acquired on history not just from books and periodicals, but also having had the privilege of learning from 'ohana who in the typical Hawaiian tradition, has made sure that they shared our 'ohana's knowledge and traditions and asked that I only do the same for future generations. So I've taken that extra step by utilizing modern technology to help me in this process.
