R. J. Drofnats[edit]

I wrote it. I expected it to be deleted much sooner; it wasn't, so I'm listing it myself. Look, I'll make it up to you: I promise there are no more articles like this lurking in the Wiki (authored by me, that is), and I'll never start a new one (and that's a pretty big commitment, considering the endless potential for comedy Wikipedia has). In return, you don't bust my chops too hard but just vote Delete real quick. Deal? (And in case you don't get any of it: you really need to be a TeX nerd for that.) JRM 20:45, 2004 Dec 3 (UTC)

  • Comment Thank you. (Yes, that's sincere). Given that the article is an obvious prank (spell the name backwards, etc.) and therefore technically vandalism, and given your implicit acknowledgement, I think it's a valid candidate for speedy deletion and will delete it. Anyone who wants it back, let me know; I'll undelete it on request. Entire content of article is given below. [[User:Dpbsmith|Dpbsmith (talk)]] 21:04, 3 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Revinu Jitis Drofnats (born January 10, 1938 in Tupelo, Oregon) is a professor of farm ecology at the University of St. Anford in California. Since 1982, he has been the conductor of the university orchestra.
He is best known for his research on the potential application of isolated analgesics, which has led to radically more efficient management of aspirin-based compounds.
In 1984, Drofnats sued Donald E. Knuth over the publication of a private letter by Drofnats in Knuth's The TeXbook, claiming copyright violation. This was overturned on the technical matter of Drofnats being a figment of Knuth's imagination. As of 2004, the case is still awaiting appeal.
