Remote controlled seagull?[edit]

Somehow I don't think he "flew" a remote controlled seagull onto the pitch to entice Warnie with a cigarette. I would have thought it would a remote controlled base with a plastic seagull on top. In which case the correct verb would be "drove". Anyone with more information? Imroy 12:10, 2005 May 28 (UTC)

Making way for Eminem[edit]

I think it should be mentioned that what he said on Andrew Denton was in jest - he wasn't serious. Anyone have any objections to this edit? I always ask for permission, isn't it sweet? :P

Raspberry Cordial[edit]

John Safran vs. God - dæmonic possesion and exorcism[edit]

I have updated the section on the exorcism shown with info from my memory of when Safran appeared on Enough Rope. I would appreciate it if someone else who saw this segment would please review this to ensure the accuracy of what I have written.

Speaking in Tongues - political correctness[edit]

Is having Andrew Bolt and Andrew Fraser as guests on the show politically correct? From the SBS website it seems to be quite controversial.

I also dont think that Maguire 'lacks spark'--he has obviuosly been edited that way--his conversations are continually abruptly ended. Radio (RRR)[edit]

the bit about rrr isn't totally correct. It says he was a regular host. I think it should just say he was a co-host. He was actually a host. And he isn't anymore. Fake bit of information?[edit]

"Recently John has mentioned on Triple J radio that he is somewhat sceptical about the quality of information available on the internet, and particularly Wikipedia. He suggested that from what he can see, the internet was full of little bits of misinformation about himself [citation needed]."

It seems he really believed this up until very recently, on Triple J radio, Sunday Night Safran, 18th May 2008 he mentioned, 'I am never going to bag Wikipedia again, cos, you know, I have often bagged Wikipedia. But this has totally turned me around and I am now very pro-Wikipedia.' (at 45 minutes in podcast) after discovering the Navies of landlocked countries page which greatly interested him. 2007 MTV Pilot?[edit]

Does anybody know enough about the new MTV Pilot "John Safran Saves America" to include it in the article. HE has spoken about it on Triple J a fair bit recently, both on his own show and as a guest on Top Shelf with Robbie Buck. All are on the podcasts.

JJJ???[edit]

Concerning edit from 05:41, 24 May 2009 114.73.167.239, declaring triple j to be a "national faux-youth radio station" rather than a "national youth radio station": I don't think the John Safran wikipedia article is the proper place to air whatever grievances you might have about JJJ. It's own website at http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/about/ uses the phrase "Australia's only national youth broadcaster". Crucifixion[edit]

The contempt by this jew Safran and the discussion of his contemptuous actions towards Christianity has been labelled as "anti-semitism" by obvious zionist jew wikipedians. First, I must remind you of WP:NPA. You have quite a hostile tone towards the other editors here. Problems with your additions include and are not limited to (in no particular order):
  1. You must back up the claim that John Safran acted with contempt towards Christians. From what I've read, he took part in a annual Christian ritual in the Philippines. I'm not sure how taking part in this any more contemptuous than, say, John Safran helping Father Bob with mass in a previous TV show. Granted, it is quite a different event but nevertheless it is an annual event involving Christians in the Philippines that John Safran participated in.
  2. You must back up the claim regarding Christian's views toward John Safran. It certainly doesn't cover the response from Christians as a whole. For example, look at the reference for this event in the article in which Father Bob Maguire plainly states: "He would not have done it contemptuously". It does not support what you are saying, and, in fact, it says the opposite.
  3. The tone is completely unencyclopedic and did not aheare to WP:NPOV.
  4. It's too soon for an objective summary of the reaction to such an event which is required for any discussion on the subject in this article. There is no need to rush to include the reaction to the event - in time, I am sure there will be plently of reliable sources to write an objective summary of the response.

I notice there has been a reference added regarding the death of Safran's mother. Specifically "Obituaries, Australian Jewish News, Friday, December 12, 2003". Is there an online version of this? I've searched the newspaper's website and didn't find anything like this, although it looks like their online archive only goes to 2005 or so. Given the hostility towards Safran in some of the recent edits I'd like to double check (this is a biography of a living person after all) but as I am in Canada it's not so easy. That is a start to addressing the second point but consider some of the other sources cited in the article, such as the quote from Father Bob, in which some Christians have different reactions. I don't doubt that some Christians were offended by this, but if we are going to discuss the reaction it must be an objective discussion rather than a couple choice reactions. You've missed my point. Father Bob is obviously not an objective source. Neither is Bishop Julian Porteous or Father Gary Rawson or any of the others mentioned in the articles. My point was that the reaction has been varied rather than uniform and, more important, that there are currently insufficient sources for an objective summary of the reaction. None of the references (here and in the article) are sufficient for an objective discussion of the reaction - they all contain a few choice reactions. As I said above (point four in my first reply to you), I think it's too soon for an objective discussion as it's only just happened. By the way, what the deal with the "Safran the jew" comments? Age?[edit]

John Safran was born in 1972, not 1976.

The claim that he was 33 years of age on the news report regarding his crucifixion was most likely a mistake. John was 31 when we was in the middle of producing John Safran Vs.
