The full name Behdad (Persian: بهداد) prefers to be called by is Behdad Esfahbod (Persian: بهداد اسفهبد), though his legal (passport) name is much longer.

Behdad got his MSc from the department of computer science at the University of Toronto in 2006. He currently works at the Google Waterloo office. He previously worked for Red Hat.

Behdad is a Free Software developer. He has worked (and is working) on various different Free Software projects mainly related to Unicode and text rendering. His long-term goal since late last century has been to make Persian work great in computer software, in particular, in Free Software.
