Instead of linking to a nonexistant extry on The Golden Age of Science fiction, maybe it should link to the Golden Age part of the history of science fiction article? I'll leave that to someone else as I leave it to others to learn the Wiki script. Scott Dubin

Does anyone know the details of Dekko's storylines, other than Hearts And Minds? I am dying to know what his previous plots were. -- BBlackmoor ^(talk), 2005-10-29 T 05:45:30 Z

Dekko was an artist (Arthur Dekker, as I recall) and a friend to Zot's uncle Max. He developed cancer, and had to have his arm amputated and replaced by a robotic prosthesis. Unfortunately, the disease had spread, and over time more and more of his flesh had to be replaced. At the same time, Arthur's relationship with his girlfriend began to fall apart, his art became more and more abstract and less and less humanistic, and he eventually became obsessed with the machines slowly replacing his body -- to the point that he started designing their appearance himself (hence the Chrysler building head). I think his girlfriend died in here somewhere, but I don't remember the exact details (sorry!). Dana 03:41, 8 November 2005 (UTC)

The fate of Sarah, Dekko's girlfriend (or wife?) is never explicitly stated. It seems that Dekko did something to harm her, physically or psychologically, and this contributed to his psychosis; Sarah shows up in Dekko's hallucinations as his alter-ego, representing natural and organic qualities in contrrast to Dekko's linear, mechanical aspects.

I hace added a themes section and expanded the summary significantly, but not exhaustively. If anyone wants to contribute, feel free.

1965

I tried to come up with a way to add a sentence or two to the main article to discuss the bizarre nature of Zot's world--being stuck in a permanent retro-"1965". Nothing sounded right, per Wikipedia guidelines. Someone else want to take a crack at it? SteelWheel 08:43, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
