This page should be renamed "Pass defensed" for this is the correct name of the statistic. Though "Deflected pass" indicates the same meaning, it is not the name for which the action is properly known in American football. After looking through NFL.com and some other sites that have comprehensive football coverage, I've found a startling ambivalence regarding whether this statistic is known as "pass deflected" or "pass defensed". Most simply abbreviate it as "Pass def" or "PD". This ambiguity may have arisen because of these abbreviations. Since I cannot find a right or wrong answer, I will change the title of this article to "Pass deflected" and create a redirect from "pass defensed". --Sophitus 14:52, May 19, 2005 (UTC)
