Ok, somebody mind explaining to me how a stage of the Tour de France passes through a small town in SE England, or is somebody just being funny? --Jonathan Christensen 15:37, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I actually live in the village, and can conclusively say the Tour de France does not routinely go through Rowlands Castle. It was actually only 1994 when this happened (the busiest the place has ever been). I guess someone should change the page to reflect this...

I've now had a meddle with the page to reflect the above, and also added a few points of my own. This is my first edit on wikipedia so let me know if I've done anything wrong! --81.134.175.188 00:16, 5 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Rework October 2018[edit]

Following some content removals that I have at least temporarily re-instated I will be re-working the article and attempting in good faith to ensure remaining potentially contentious information is cited. I will also attempt to align to WP:WikiProject UK geography/How to write about settlements to the best of my ability. You are welcome to participation, but please tag any statements that may be an issue rather than removing them reduring the refactor. Thankyou. I plan to work this by creating some sections from the How to write about settlements and move content there in the first instance. This may look a little unbalanced and weird while it is in progress as content might not always fit 100% with heading. When that is complete I will start to explore individual content and determine with citing/referencing what can be salvaged, what needs to be altered, what needs to be moved again and quite possibly the odd fresh addition. Thats the plan. Djm-leighpark (talk) 10:12, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • I consider the uncited reference to the appearance of the hardware store in the series 10 Apprentice to be too vague to remain in the article. It is therefore removed. to be re-introduced at a minimum I feel it will need to have a precise citation and some increase in context and content, and that may still end up being considered a trivial mention. If re-introduced use of a Filmography section per UK:VILLAGES is suggested.Djm-leighpark (talk) 20:34, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • For the Buster Crabb to remain (Whichers Gate - Staunton Arms) it needs some citation relatively quickly ... ideally within a month. The content seems credible however may simply be based on local hearsay. I hope to find out ... its left in the main space with health warnings in case someone finds something out.Djm-leighpark (talk) 21:00, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Reasonably happy anything contentious is cited or tagged and structure generally stable so removing top templates. Tagged stuff needs revisiting in a month or two. There actually loads that could be added from the attached references and I'd advise checking WP:UKVILLAGES for the appropriate headings ... A Culture and community is definitely needed! Stained Glass Windows[edit]

I am about to remove the external link for stained glass windows because while it seems to apply to St. John Baptist CofE church the page itself show signs of distress and I could not reproduce from a search on the website or a recovery from Wayback. I have given the Wayback URL here but actually this could be anychurch.Djm-leighpark (talk) 14:39, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The correct page is here. Daemonickangaroo2018 (talk) 06:46, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks ... I've used it as a cite and by adding a little content.  Done
