Untitled[edit]

I used the words "infamous strike of 1929" to describe the gastonia, n.c. strike. This strike is the one in which a truckload of union workers was pursued by vigilantees and shot, killing Ella Mae Wiggins, mother of five. Four other union leaders were killed , as was the chief of police.

Question on segregation[edit]

It's an excellent article, but I recall that the textile industry was segregated at this point. Isn't that worth mentioning, since everyone was struggling for jobs in the Depression? I don't know when textile jobs were opened to African Americans. Just trying to fit the pieces together.--Parkwells (talk) 14:18, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not possessive[edit]

This article is about a strike that is described by the adjective phrase “textile workers.” It is NOT about a strike that was possessed by textile workers. Therefore, the correct article title does NOT contain an apostrophe. Jeff in CA (talk) 09:24, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
