Oh, I don't know that deep english technical, but I find it very intersting. That person who corrected it was Ervin (as far as I remember, just look the history), and she/he changed it in a lot of places! Maybe you want to go to her modification and change all of that person's fixing and re-fix them all! :P Thanks for the interest.

Featured article for December 25th

I noticed that you have listed yourself as an atheist Wikipedian. You will probably be interested to know that Brian0918 has nominated Omnipotence paradox as the front page article for December 25th. You can vote on this matter here. The other suggestion being supported by others for that date is Christmas, although Raul654 has historically been against featuring articles on the same day as their anniversary/holiday. Thanks for the update, coincidently I was just wondering about this last evening. To answer your question over there: I have no idea how to get a feature like that implemented. It should be very possible, although it'll probably take longer to render pages. Checking if an articles exists (red or blue link) is a matter of checking for a database entry, but checking if the page is a redirect means reading through that specific database entry itself. I followed an "As of" link a long time ago, and although I'm starting to doubt my memory now, I think I ended up at a specific page which (automatically) collected all those facts or something like that. Later I was just redirected by such a link, no proof of those things being useful, so I figured the "As of" system ended up being deprecated or something. Sorry for the de-linking! VWN en WCN

Beste Retodon8,

Al enige tijd is er een Nederlandstalig chapter in oprichting, te vinden op http://nl.wikimedia.org . Dit wordt de Vereniging Wikimedia Nederland (VWN). Je kunt je interesse om lid te worden van deze vereniging hier aangeven.

Deze vereniging gaat eind augustus/begin september een Wikimedia Conferentie in Nederland (WCN) houden, volgend op Wikimania in Boston, gedeeltelijk erop inspelend middels een aantal discussiegroepen. Om iets dergelijks te organiseren is imput erg gewenst. Dus als je wilt meehelpen, of als je interesse hebt om bij een dergelijk evenement aanwezig te zijn, geef dat dan aan op nl.wikimedia. Thanks for the link! Reading the blog however, I notice Imran Qureshi also capitalizes both words in the "Safety Improvements" and "Improved Error Message Discoverability" headers, and isn't consistant with the capitalizing of the "Spell Check as you Type"/"Spell Check As You Type" header either. That along with what I already mentioned, leads me to believe that he's just not quite consistant with his header capitalizing, and that those aren't official feature names, also because of what I mentioned earlier. Excuse me?

At the Cosmo disambiguation page, you typed an edit summary of "(RattleMan, changing a working link back to its redirecting state is not "fixing".)". Let me show you what exactly I did:

Originally, it looked like this:

• Cosmo, a character in Sonic X. see Minor characters in Sonic the Hedgehog#Cosmo

I changed it to this:

• Cosmo (Sonic X), a character in Sonic X.

The link still leads to the EXACT same place, the link is just moved over to the left and piped to fit with the look of all the other "Cosmo" links.

Later, after I had made my edit, someone ELSE changed it into Cosmo (Sonic X), which redirected to Minor characters in Sonic the Hedgehog#Cosmo.

I'm sorry, I got you mixed up with "SeventyThree" (edit: you figured that out now; I took too long writing this reply). The change you made before that obscured the actual article/bookmark name, but I since learned that is one of the exceptions that's allowed by the Manual of Style. Actually I checked Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages)#Piping just now, and it seems SeventyThree's edit wasn't wrong either (although the word "fixed" still seems incorrect). So, consider me a bit more enlightened about the subject, and sorry about the confusement/"accusation"! (Added this here for myself, I'll paste it onto your Talk page as well now.) A little late, I wish I hadn't procrastinated and then forgot about it for a while, but I wrote a little response now. Pretty much everything had been said already. His own edits speak for themselves. I don't want Xino banned (somehow he thinks, or at least thought that is what this is about), but getting this conflict resolved would be nice, so we can all use our energy for more constructive things. Worm (disambiguation) and Worms (disambiguation)

Hi Retodon!

I don't think your merging of the two disambigs is a good idea. We had that before and it was overcomplex and confusing. I do agree with you that generally plurals should link to the singular. But here we are not only talking about the plural of worm: Neither Worms, Germany nor Worms as a family name means the plural of worm. The game's name on the other hand is connected to the little animals, still it is called 'Worms' and not 'Worm'. Therefore I'd be happy if you reverted your changes yourself.

Hello PanchoS! I'm not convinced reverting is a good idea. I don't see anything complex or confusing. (Also as a matter of fact I did check the Talk pages, but nothing about that earlier discussion, so I decided to be bold.) On second thought, it probably would've been better to make a "Worm", "The Worm", and a "Worms" section (header) for easier searching. Since there are only 2 links on "persons" right now (well, 3 if you count the name example, but I noticed that's already on the linked DAB page, so it shouldn't be there anyway), putting those in a loose paragraph actually does add some complexity. I'll change that now to show what I mean...

The family name may not be connected to the animal, but does that matter? Look at "Mister" (accidently found that just now), which currently refers to 2 completely unrelated articles. There's nothing wrong with that, since if people are looking for either subject, they probably won't even be thinking about homonyms, and will pick the right link from the DAB page by description. Also I looked in the Manual of Style on DAB pages and plural redirects, and didn't find anything about exceptions.

It would be illogical for me to change something into something I think is worse, and for a reason I personally don't even see, so I'm not going to do it. Like I said, I did make the page simpler just now. If you (or anyone else) change it back, I'll leave it alone though, I'm not looking for an edit war, I just think it's better this way. Citations and Star Wars

Hi, I reverted your removal of the {{citation needed}} template over on List of Star Wars races (K-O) and since you indicated in your edit summary that you knew of a supporting reference for this fact I was hoping you'd come back to the article and put it in. The Star Wars articles on Wikipedia suffer from a significant dearth of referencing to back up their information, I've made it an impromptu project out of trying to improve the situation but I lack knowledge about the Expanded Universe to provide them myself. If you're not familiar with footnote formatting just stick a URL or other source in and I'll follow along tidying everything up. Bryan 23:10, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

I was a little late responding to your request, but there you are. :) I figured I'd add a few more while I was at it, until dinner time anyway. I agree about the many missing references, I just figured it wasn't necessary in this case. Some of the others I added were a bit harder to find. Computer and video games

Regarding your move from Caesar (computer game) to Caesar (video game), you stated as reason for Wikipedia standards. To my knowledge it has always been a computer game if it was primarily released for Personal Computers and a video game if it was for game consoles. Is there a written definition you are referring to? -- Darklock 21:58, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

Sorry for the slow reply, and sorry for this being so short, but I just lost a more elaborate reply by some really unuseful key combination I found by accident. :( Basically see the Talk page for Video game, and the actual article. I just noticed it has been moved, and the reasoning is there for us to read, which I'll do later myself. Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion).
