Statement of the dispute[edit]

This is a summary written by users who dispute this user's conduct. Users signing other sections should not edit here.

Description[edit]

User:El Coronado has made it his object to post an elaborate hoax (contribs) about Anarcho Coronado de Murillo and a number of nonexistent "revolutionary" parties. He has inserted references in many legitimate pages and on other Wiki-sister projects (like Wikiquote). He subsequently made references to these articles in some online forums. This is not only hoax, this is a vandalism of Wikipedia. When confronted with requests to confirm the information, he created a hoax webpage.

El Coronado is persistently perpetrating hoax information about Anarcho Coronado de Murillo and a number of nonexistent revolutionary parties. All new article pages and edits made by this user need to be fact-checked.

The user has created a website and is using the Google hits on his article on Wikipedia, Wikiquote and their mirrors as proof of the validity of his creation. ([1]).

El Coronado is highly suspected of contributing from these IP addresses:

Evidence of trying and failing to resolve the dispute[edit]

(provide diffs and links)

  1. User:Mikkalai asks El Coronado to provide proof of the articles, he responds with an attack
  2. Talk:Anarcho Coronado de Murillo shows that he persists in his hoax. Mikkalai 07:01, 9 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  3. To substantiate his hoax, he created a hoax webpage (E.g., the opening portrait is in fact that of Camillo Torres, a painting known as "Guerrilla Christ" (#5 at http://www.lib.berkeley.edu/~lcushing/DocsPop/Cuba_archive1.html))
  4. Two administrators, RickK and myself, have attempted to speak to the user on his talk page. The response thus far has been angry denunciations and a vow to take down his articles and not come back. Geogre 15:09, 9 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  1. 24 hours later, there has been no response, either in the form of reforming the editing pattern or in explaining/verifying his articles. Geogre 04:39, 10 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  2. Actually, a new fake webpage appeared on geocities, with a deceiving reference in wikipedia: www.anarchocoronado.com. Mikkalai 04:43, 10 Sep 2004 (UTC)
This seems like a separate offense: He is now claiming that Wikipedia supports his information and standing. Geogre 13:51, 10 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  1. Actually, the user is standing by his story that it's a valid article and the geocities page is someting he "found". See his response on my Talk page: [2] RickK 05:07, Sep 10, 2004 (UTC)
  1. Another instance in which El Coronado purports to have secret information about his friend "Anarcho", in response to my edits to some of his articles. --Slowking Man 05:29, Sep 10, 2004 (UTC)
