Hi, and sorry 'bout Gendertalk being listed on VfD[edit]

I suppose a formal welcome is in order :-). If there is anything you want to know, you know where to find me, for sure.

I noticed that your article Gendertalk was listed on votes for deletion. It's unfortunate, but I am pretty sure it will survive the rough VfD treatment and only get better from it.

Ah, I'll figure everything out... Wikipedia wasn't too different from Susning.nu... =) Sippan 12:13, 4 Sep 2004 (UTC) (oooohh)
Even some the users are not different =) And you! susning.nu is defined here. // Solkoll 23:20, 4 Sep 2004 (UTC)
Wow, there's no escape from Susning... ^.^ Sippan 23:40, 4 Sep 2004 (UTC)
If you could add some more details about Gendertalk, it would help gaining support in the deletion vote. See the votes page for specific requests. — David Remahl 23:55, 4 Sep 2004 (UTC)
Unfortunately, what I already wrote was about all I could think of... (But the whole votes for deletion thing is pretty clever, sure beats the Susning-way of handling page deletion =) Sippan 16:20, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
It's "interesting" to say the least...Many people say it's broken, and there's a constant conflict between m:Deletionists and m:Retentionists (and m:Eventualists, m:Immediatists and a whole slew of other more or less relevant labels ;-)). Even though I'd like to describe my self as an eventualist, I I've come to accept VfD. It is needed to produce a paper-trail related to deletion. It would be many times worse if only admins could delete pages and they did it without consulting the rest of the community. At present, the main problem with VfD is that it's overblown and that many pages are listed there when another action would have been more appropriate (for example, merging the content with another site and redirecting) and that so many people feel that VfD is a good place to make a point in favour of their personal conviction with regards to deletion. (see the village pump for on-going discussion). — David Remahl 04:34, 6 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Help with Translation!?[edit]

Can you help translate this for me to swedish? Many thanks in advance!

The first railroad line in Albania was built in 1948 linking Tiranë with Durrës on the coast and Elbasan in the interior. The main ports are Durrës, Vlorë, Shëngjin, and Sarandë.

Albania has a somewhat limited telephone network. There is a fairly extensive broadcasting service, however, and television programming began in 1971. Newspaper circulation is quite limited. There is a state university at Tiranë.

Gender[edit]

What people don't generally notice is that English uses gender-assigned words. In the event that we don't know the gender, we use it. Like other Romance languages, it usually involves gender assigning an act.

For instance: a Soldier would be referred to as "he" if the name and gender is unknown. This is the reason Halo 3: ODST used it. But, due to Wikipedia's non-bias policy, it is not used as to avoid offending.OsirisV (talk) 13:56, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
