Kuril islands[edit]

These are a group of island seized by the USSR from Japan at the end of WWII, ethnically cleansed and then annexed. There is no peace agreement between Japan and Russia to legitimate this, so the dispute appears to be continuing military occupation. West papua[edit]

the occupation of west Papua should be added to the list west Papua was seized by Indonesia in 1962 Christsos (talk) 06:04, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

West Papua would be inside of Indonesia's recognized territory. This doesn't make it morally correct, but it would not qualify as a military occupation. IrisArgo (talk) 01:00, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Guantanamo Bay[edit]

Hello. I believe that the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base belonging to the United States would qualify as an occupation. It is controlled by the United States military, despite being in Cuba. It has also been described as an occupation by multiple sources. [1][2][3][4] Thoughts? IrisArgo (talk) 01:18, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
