Page Name[edit]

OK, I "boldly" changed the name to reflect the most common way someone would disambiguate this USS Sequoia from any other. I also changed the USS Sequoia page to USS Sequoia (disambiguation) since I understand this better reflects Wikipedia standards. It would be my contention this is the best way to name the page in the absence of being able to unambiguously return it to the original USS Sequoia name. --Dhartung 23:45, 23 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Please see Wikipedia:WikiProject Ships for the current consensus policy. Given that there are probably well over a thousand articles that follow the form I set up for this article, I hope you can appreciate the importance of using a consistent structure. Stan 05:16, 24 Nov 2004 (UTC)
OK, point taken. Sorry you had to undo this. --Dhartung 06:51, 24 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Inconsistency in "Government Service" list of activities[edit]

If President Carter sold her in 1977 how did it come that President Reagan and President George HW Bush were able to use it for official business? Geo Swan 18:29, 7 Feb 2005 (UTC)

I've noticed this as well and it doesn't make any sense and cites no sources. I have no real experience editing, I just wanted to second that there is inconsistency and something needs corrected. 168.166.80.244 (talk) 17:20, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It could have been loaned or rented as was the Ferdinand_Magellan_(railcar) during Ronald Regan's 1984 re-election campaign.Blue Riband► 19:49, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Legends[edit]

The believes that Franklin D. Roosevelt and Dwight D. Eisenhower planned European war strategy and than Harry S. Truman decided to bomb Hiroshima seems to be myths seems to be only legends depending history channel documentary. TCY (talk) 16:06, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Regan and Bush[edit]

The article doesn't make it clear under what circumstances that Regan and Bush used the Sequoia, given that Carter had sold it off prior to their administrations. I'm not necessarily questioning the events noted, but the article needs to clarify how they happened. --J Clear (talk) 15:34, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The ship was made available to US presidents for hosting guests by the new owners: http://www.njmb.org/tour-presidential-yacht.php. Dtolman (talk) 14:35, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Corrections to Main Story[edit]

Please delete the sentence referencing that Roy Dillard purchased the Sequoia. I was the one who posted this incorrect statement and I have since learned he actually purchased the tender known as "Fiddlesticks" for the yacht known as the "Potomac". This was a mistake on my part. 108.33.2.37 (talk) 23:42, 18 March 2012 (UTC) Lawrence Dillard 03 18 2012[reply]

Done You could have deleted the statement the same way you added it. —Diiscool (talk) 00:14, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Contradictory dates[edit]

Îf the yacht was hauled ashore in 2003 and "remains in storage" how can the picture accompanying the article be from 2008 but show it in the water??? --5.146.47.75 (talk) 08:48, 1 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not finding that in the article. But boats are periodically taken into drydock for maintenance. Blue Riband► 13:41, 1 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
