Discussion[edit]

I got the list from the city website, [1], and removed the divisions from the neigborhood names (North Oakland, South Oakland, etc.) This list needs editing, and I/we need to make sure the pages link to Pgh articles. AdamRetchless 23:49, 27 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Nice list. Since you haven't disambiguated the pages to which the links refer, however, you're linking to articles that aren't about those Pittsburgh neighborhood but rather are disambiguation pages or articles about neighborhoods or cities with the same names in other places. You may want to disambiguate. If you need help, ask here. Moncrief 23:52, Mar 27, 2004 (UTC)
I've taken the liberty to do a little more cleaning up. I merged several more "official" neighborhoods into more common designations (for example, Upper Hill + Middle Hill + Bedford + Terrace + Crawford = Hill District). I've added (Pittsburgh) to the names of all pages, assuming that no other entries link to unedited neighborhood entries (is this too dangerous of an assumption?) Still, more cleaning up is necessary. To what neighborhood does "Northside" refer? What about that pesky Allegheny? Should we rename it "Allegheny Mall?" Matthewmeisel 23:10, 12 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Just kidding. I didn't add (Pittsburgh) to all the entries. Matthewmeisel 23:10, 12 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Gap ????[edit]

What's the yellow bit north of Carrick? Nathanian 22:09, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's Mount Oliver the borough, not to be confused with the neighborhood - Tomdobb 16:38, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

clean-up[edit]

i attempted a quick clean-up. if we could de-merge the merged articles and get every official neighborhood a page, that would be great. and to satisfy everyone who wants un-official neighborhoods on here, we could list them with the real neighborhood like is already done for a few on here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.201.54.17 (talk) 15:36, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

90 or 91?[edit]

Uh…it's repeatedly claimed (here and in the main Pittsburgh article) that 90 neighborhoods are recognized, but then there are 91 neighborhoods listed. Just thought I'd point that out. —Notyourbroom (talk) 20:40, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

propose new image version[edit]

Click a neighborhood to navigate to its article.

I agree that this is an improvement. —Notyourbroom (talk) 00:23, 18 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Though one thing I don't understand is why on the info pages (1, 2), the fonts look very different, whereas in the 1000px renders (1, 2) they look the same. —Notyourbroom (talk) 00:27, 18 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Damn, that's a sexy image map. TheOneSean [ U | T | C ] 20:39, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Tidied up the article a bit[edit]

The article (especially the table) was tidied up by me. Also added was the section titles Areas; this is a list of the places in pittsburgh which are often referred to as "neighborhoods" by the people who live there; for lack of a better name it is called this, it could use a better title and also addition of a description explaining the list contents. I hope my edits are acceptable. :-) --Hhm8 (talk) 09:34, 3 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Map inaccuracies[edit]

Since this is a list of neighborhoods, shouldn't Bluff be called Uptown, and Brunot Island be considered part of Marshall-Shadeland? --Scuzzy Beta 18:19, 30 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
