Proposed rename[edit]

I propose to move this article to "Methven, New Zealand", to make room for a disambig page at "Methven". I think this is necessary because I'm going to make Methven, Perthshire, a town in Scotland. The Scottish Methven was the scene of a battle and the birthplace of Robert Stirling, and a quick google suggests the NZ and Scottish versions are of comparable notability. Rail Link[edit]

I noticed that the items regarding the rail link now refer to it going to Methven. This is incorrect as the real destination was mount Somers. The reference to the rail returning to Tinwald has also been removed. I don't think that this is a helpful revision Abeorch 12:10, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can you provide a source for that? Both Methven Branch and Mount Somers Branch make no reference to a link between the two. Further, the link between Mount Somers and Methven would be of similar length to each of these lines on their own (around 35km), and require quite extensive bridges over the North and South branches of the Ashburton River. Also, I've seen no evidence of such a linking railway line, whereas the paths of these two branch lines are quite evident still. Limegreen 22:44, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
