I am sorry but I just undid your two edits to Joseph Stalin. Please don't overlink; it makes the pages hard to read. Wikipedia:Make only links relevant to the context has excellent guidelines on what should and should not be linked. In any case, please do not link common English words like birth, death mother, and father. This serves no meaningful purpose. Thanks, -- Viajero 18:17, 14 Dec 2003 (UTC)

The whole point of an encyclopedia is to provide information, and an online encyclopaedia to provide interlinked information, and the interlink-ed-ness imho, provides a whole new level of information, i.e. what links to where, how many links does an article have etc. On top of that you seem to be assuming that everyone has the same level of knowledge as you or I, yes, you and I know what birth a mother or a father is, but people that are perhaps new to the English language, or even kids who want to learn more about these subjects should be able to just click through to get more information. thats the way i see it anyway. BTW the page u linked to has this at the top of it: "The appropriateness of this page is disputed: see the talk page." so hardly a rule layed down in stone is it? -- Steeev 01:06, 15 Dec 2003 (UTC)

I have to agree with Viajero, on the regular Wikipedia we try to avoid linking normal English words unless they deserve special emphasis. This is different on the Simple English Wikipedia, where unusual words are always highlighted for non-native speakers.—Eloquence
