First look[edit]

Uncle_Ed, I think it's a good idea to move this section here.

Some structure/organization suggestions:

  • We should also move subsections "Palestinian Authority" and "Islamic sphere" over here, because those also describe views of occupation (and nothing else).
  • Add "Israel" subsection here and move all Israeli views into that subsection.
  • Add "International community" subsection and move their views there.

The best order of view subsections would be probably:

  • Contestants first (Palestinian views, Israel views), then
  • "Neutral arbiters" (International community), then
  • The rest (Arab world, Islamic sphere, whatever).

We should start with an NPOV summary, and there are many NPOV issues with the current text. Here's just one:

  • The "Arabs and their allies" sentence is POV in many ways:
  • It implies that only Arab allies oppose Israeli occupation, which is not true.
  • This mimicks a favorite canard of Zionist extremists -- they call anyone supporting the Palestinian cause an Arab-lover or a Jew-hater.
  • It is not mirrored with "Jews and their allies", but with "Israel and their allies". "Arab" is an ethno/racial term so a mirror term should be "Jew", not "Israel".
  • "Arabs and their allies" are a minority compared to the world. Thus the views of the international community should go first.

Another suggestion[edit]

It would also make sense to create History of Palestine occupations and move all historic occupation subsections from Occupation of Palestine to the new article. It would make the main article more readable by reducing clutter and it would also do justice to the title Occupation of Palestine, which everyone assumes means "the current occupation" (otherwise we'd need yet another article titled OccupationS of Palestine).
