sorry[edit]

I took another look at your edit and now think I was hasty in doing a revert. I was thrown by the colloquial tone and repetition of "Hercules transports and helicopters would come really handy right now" and "Plain old raw man power would also come in handy," the skeptical tone of "The mass-media based 'confirmed' Indonesian death toll has already passed 70.000," and I assumed that the sentence "There are so many corpses strewn all over that the already somewhat massive volunteer force has begun to show signs of massive fatigue" was a poor attempt at humor ("somewhat massive" -> "massive fatigue"). You did add useful new content and I should have assumed good faith, reworded, and merged info rather than reverting. My only excuse is that I have become very sensitive to the repeated vandalism of the earthquake-related pages and have become a bit quick on the draw. I apologize for my inappropriate reversion and appreciate your measured response on my talk page. Thanks, BanyanTree 06:18, 31 Dec 2004 (UTC)

editor's note: the rest of this conversation can be read BanyanTree's talk page. It all had to do with some relatively minor edits concerning the Boxing Day Tsunami.

Hi there[edit]

We 'met' on the Nias island page -- as in I added the Islands of Indonesia category while I was there. I've been touching a lot of the region's pages trying to help 'em however I can. My interest pre-dates the disaster; my mother lives on Bali. I'd be glad to chat about wiki-endeavors and collaborate if you like.

My best wishes to all Indos in these terrible times; Davenbelle 11:20, Jan 3, 2005 (UTC) (California)

I've been focusing on second-tier pages on the assumption that more experienced users are leading the charge on the main pages about the earthquake and tsunami. I created stubs for some towns along the west coast of Sumatra that I've seen mentioned in the news and have added some links to them from next-up pages link Aceh. I'm thinking that another good activity would be getting some more maps uploaded; some of these, for example:

http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/indonesia.html && http://www.lib.utexas.edu/usage_statement.html

There are also a whole lot of photos the US Navy is taking, here:

http://www.news.navy.mil/view_photos.asp

and they're all public domain...

I'm open to suggestions and thought it would be good to have a local contact.

P.S. I'm a full time Firefox user.

Improving Indonesia-related articles[edit]

Hi. I'd like to talk with you about a personal appeal I am making to any and all persons who have edited Indonesia-related articles in the past, to start discussing ways we can collaborate to improve the quality of these articles (e.g. WikiProjects, Regional Notice Boards, and the like). If you wish to read the appeal, it's in Talk:Suharto. If you could get back to me with any feedback, please post it to my Talk Page.--Daniel June 28, 2005 19:14 (UTC)

Welcome[edit]

How are you (apa kabar) Lemi4? And welcome to Wikipedia! Just to let you know, at the Indonesian WikiProject there are a group of editors collaborating to improve the articles related to Indonesia. We hope you can join us to make the project even better!

Here are some Indonesia-related project resources which may be of use:

Hope you find these useful. If not you can improve them, it's Wikipedia!
Okay, happy editing and take care.

Java collaboration[edit]

Hi Lemi4! Starting today, the Indonesia Collaboration is Java. Come along and help make this an article worthy of the world’s greatest island. There’s a suggested to-do list on the the talk page to which you can add, or just pick a task. All sorts of tasks are required, Images, Citations, Research, Copy Edit; you name it, it needs to be done – this important article needs your help!! Regards -- Imoeng 08:42, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Indonesia Newsletter[edit]

Last week, two more members have joined the project, and really boost the progress of articles editing. Danny Yee and Lestari, welcome to the project, hopefully you will enjoy your stay. So, we officially have got 26 members!

More than 440 articles have been tagged with the WikiProject Indonesia template, well done to all editors who have contributed this far. Also, while copy-editing is a very useful thing to do, researching and expanding the article, or maybe one or two sections would be extremely useful, because it is the goal of the collaboration, expanding and getting a good article status.

What's new?
Several ways to increase the interactions between editors have been proposed. For now, the best solution would be the IRC Channel just for WikiProject Indonesia. Please go to #wikipedia-id if you have had experiences with IRC Channels. Or read the instructions at Wikipedia:IRC.

For people who choose not to receive this newsletter, please add your name to this list. Instead of receiving this newsletter, the bot will only send you the link to a particular newsletter.

Articles improvements
We have got another Good Article nomination! Congratulations to all editors, especially Indon, who have improved it significantly, maybe you can give six barnstars. So, with the nomination, we officially have had four good articles. Hopefully we can get plenty good articles in the future, or even featured articles.

The last collaboration was not a huge success, the Pulau Dewata is still a "start" article and has not improved much. However, seems like the collaboration spirit is back and Java has improved gradually, thanks to all editors.

Many thanks to MartinBotII, a state-of-the-art Martinp23's bot for delivering the newsletter

If you prefer to get a link to the next newsletters instead of receiving them, please add your name to this list.

So please visit and help choose the next article. Any questions/comments, please let me know. I'd love to hear from you particularly if you have any good suggestions! :-) --Merbabu 10:26, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, Lemi4! This fortnight we've chosen: >>>Majapahit Kingdom<<<. Please help in referencing, check my newly added headings, improve prose, diagrams, but most importantly is RESEARCH so we can actually grow the article. Any other suggestions for improvement, please leave on the article's talk page. Yes, please discuss on talk page!
Also, can you please post suggestions for the following fortnight's collaboration. Please leave your suggestions at the bottom of this page. Hopefully i will remember to remind you to vote in about a week (someone else remind me!).--Merbabu 14:23, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there Lemi4. For the next two weeks we have chosen >>>Indonesian War of Independence<<< for the Indonesia Collab. Also, please vote for the next fortnight. Maybe we should chose a stub article. So far, we have had already longish articles and they are therfore hard to expand. Here's a list of Indonesian underdeveloped articles: [1]. Please let me know if you have any suggestions (or if you do not want me to message you about the collabs). kind regards --Merbabu 12:50, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. This fortnight's Indonesia Collaboration is > > > Indonesian language < < <. Please contribute! Please nominate for the next collab here. What about choosing one the shorter Indonesia stubs this time? kind regards Merbabu 15:25, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

New collaboration...

Hello everybody. I’ve updated the current Indonesia collaboration to > > > Central Java < < <

This article’s not in a very good condition but such a significant part of Indonesia, the cultural heart of the Javanese. Please contribute! Thanks to all those contributed to the previous collaboration Sidoarjo mud flow particularly Indon.

The next collaboration...

For the next collaboration in a fortnight, I’d like to try something different. Let’s chose a stub rather than an already well-developed article. Here is a list of Indonesian stubs to choose (there’s two pages). Please check the article's importance rating – let's chose an important and significant article that will appeal to a broad range of people. Please do not choose an obscure and/or esoteric topic that is not very important. Please place your nomination here.

Any questions, please let me know. Kind regards --Merbabu 05:02, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Indonesia collaboration = Jakarta[edit]

Hello there Lemi4, this fortnight's Indonesia project collaboration is > > > Jakarta < < <. Please contribute. The most important thing is to find reliable references for all existing information, and for any new info added.

Also, please help nominate an article for the next collaboration at the collab nomination page. An underdeveloped or stub article is preferred over a long and developed article. Please nominate up to two articles. any questions, please let me know. Kind regards and happy editing. --Merbabu 11:40, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 05:18, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
