The text describes Proto-Uralic; wouldn't that be distinct from Proto-Finno-Ugric, to be precise? --Iceager 02:10, 1 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Very right. Proto-Finno-Ugric is not same as Proto-Uralic. Proto-Uralic is proto-language for all Uralic languages and Proto-Finno-Ugric proto-language for Finno-Ugric subgroup.--Kulkuri 21:04, 3 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Who is Robert Austerlitz, that his opinion about the number of cases in Proto-Finno-Ugric should be referenced? Dbenbenn 22:46, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Although Uralic, except for Finno-Ugric, only seems to contain a small number of Samoyedic languages.

Agree with the merge.--Termer (talk) 06:18, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
