Changes to the article[edit]

Prior to my changes, this article implied:

  • Only the London Underground portion was in Zone 2
  • The whole station is decorated in Edwardian Red tiles.

I know the former is incorrect (the whole station is in Zone 2) so I have corrected this. I suspect that only the LUL bit is decorated in red tiles, but without a site visit I cannot be sure, so I've left that intact.

Can anybody definitively say whether the Thameslink part of the station has Edwardian red tiling?. -- Chris j wood 11:51, 23 Feb 2005 (UTC)

It doesnt have any tiling, it doesnt have anything except platforms, as it shares the LUL ticket office, so its slightly misleading. I would add a picture but it is being refurbished. Justinc 18:48, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Layout[edit]

The layout is incorrect. The station does not have an island platform, it has two tunnels, one for each direction with separate platforms. I think the only underground northern line station with an island platform is Clapham Common. I'm not sure this sort of basic diagram adds anything to the article. Wrong train length[edit]

The article implies that only the 8 car trains can serve National Rail part of the station - this is incorrect. Longer (12 car) trains use SDO (selective door opening) to open only the doors in first 8 cars - and still serve this station.
