I think it looks best if the name is introduced a little followed by the list of people/places with that name.

The family etynology page is going to be too massive and I imagine might not last. for this reason disambiguation pages based upon names might benefit from a little etymology.

This question is primarily for Docu because I do not want to upset her/him by editing it again without understanding his/her POV first.

The page was shortly discussed on VfD and mainly kept for disambiguation purposes .. IMHO, my contribution on Family name etymology for the name could easily be improved further, but just reverting to the previous version (here) isn't that helpful. Family name etymology is far from being too massive, even without being developed by language. As I didn't feel like updating people listed here and there I replaced them with a link here, List_of_people_by_name being often updated. BTW did the people listed here have any relation to the common explanation given? -- User:Docu

assessment comments[edit]

okay, interesting start. the list could use expansion, not with more names necessarily, but to fill out the redlinks, and to add occupations on everyone. Some typos, one I noticed, Swiss astronomer (I think) Swiss should be capitalized. Bruno Huber. --Auntieruth55 (talk) 03:16, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
